Breeze was... a mix of emotions to say the least. She had anxiety but also loved being the center of attention. She probably had a superiority complex, yet she always made herself lower. She was talented yet she wouldn't show them.
I liked her immediately.
"So you must be the famous princess. I'm Breeze. Your friends have already told me about you and I would love being your teacher."
She had the weather mark, which kinda made everything perfect. Three girls, three boys, three branches, three elements. Noah had a sun mark and Ash had a fire mark, Thanatos had the darkness mark and Chelsy had blood, Dani had nature while Breeze had weather.
Perfect.
It was balance.
I kinda screwed everything up with my weird mark.
You usually screw things up anyways.
Oh shut up!
Why? You know I'm right.
I shake it off and shake Breeze's hand.
"It's nice to meet you. Just a question, how much did my friends tell you?"
"Um, your mark, the fact you are a princess, Lucifer, blah blah."
When she said Lucifer, it felt like a knife had been stabbed through my chest.
"A-ah nice. They're great friends like that."
No, it wasn't sarcastic. I just couldn't think of anything else to say, not when that memory was digging into my head.
"Are you okay? You look a little pale."
I shake my hands.
"Yeah! Yeah... I'm fine."
Dani whispered something into her ear and her eyes widen.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I should've chosen my words better..."
"No, it's fine. I just need to go to my tent. I think I forgot something in there."
I walk to the direction of my tent and feel a few tears dripping down my face.I hear them talking outside my tent.
"Should we go in? It's been a hour."
Really? Huh.
I reach into the void and pull out my journal. I had been recording what had happened in there, just to reminisce later.
"I can go in."
"Look, new guy. She doesn't know you as well as she does us, maybe we should go in."
I almost snap my pencil. I was right here.
"It's fine. I'm her friend too."
For some reason I got butterflies in my stomach when he said we were friends but I brushed it off. Just because he was cute doesn't mean I like him.
"Fine, just go."
I hear someone step inside the tent and I slam my journal shut and tried to put it back in the void.
"So, you heard all of that?"
I nod my head.
"Well, good. We were getting worried about you."
"I'm fine."
"You didn't look fine when he ran into me, crying."
My face turns red. So he was the person I ran into.
You fu*cked up
"Well, um, I'm fine now."
"Oh cut the bullcrap. You are obviously not fine."
He grabs both of hands and stares at me.
"Look me in the eye and say you are okay with no hesitation."
"I'm okay."
Seriously, that wasn't hard.
"Ugh, come with me."
He grabs me by the arm and starts dragging me out of my tent.
"Where are you taking me?"
"Somewhere, be quiet."
He drags me for a while before finally stopping.
"You've taken me back home?"
"Just look."
I see the flags of Lucifer flying mightily in the wind. I cover my mouth with my hands and bit back a scream.
The kingdom was in ruins.
"W-why are we here?"
He points over to a guard post.
It was still waving a yellow flag with the symbols of the light kingdom.
"It's the only flag remaining, but they are holding out. That's true hope there."
My hands leave my mouth. It was true, they were holding out.
For how long?
"We should go back. Chelsy will have my head if you get seen."
I laugh and look back one last time.
The flag was lowering to the ground and I can see the tips of a black one appear.678 words
