I was trying to shut up the voice. I was trying so hard to shut up the voice. The voice that tormented me. The voice that wouldn't, couldn't shut up.
That was why I jumped.
It still wouldn't shut up, even as I was inching towards the ground. It got louder.
What was worst still was my grandfather's voice.
He kept screaming at me to stop. To turn around but I didn't want to.
For the first time in 5 years, he sounded vulnerable and hurt.
I made him like that. The voice got even louder.
You hurt everyone you meet
Tears make my vision blurry as I fall.
"SHUT UP!"
Then I feel a vine wrap around me and carry me safely to the ground.
"Luna!"
I wipe my tears away and see all of them standing above me.
"What were you thinking?"
I break down and tell them everything.
Everything except for the voice. The were silent for a while before Noah bent down and pulled me into a hug.
"Never do that again."
I slowly nod my head but I knew that promise was false. They saved me, but that didn't mean the voice was gone. It was just stronger now. Stronger then its ever been."Come on, let's get back to camp."
I walk behind the others while Noah walked beside me. It was silent for the whole trip, I didn't like it. That night I made a decision."I'm resigning as leader, effective immediately."
