Forever Changed

Chapter 4

We're driving to the roller rink and it had been quite in the car with Adrian, until he said "Where have you been all day?" 

"I was with my sister." I said. 

"Your sister? I thought you guys weren't that close?" he asked. 

"Well before she went to church we were really close but then when she started to go to church I guess we just stopped talking."  

"How come you never told me this?" he said. 

"I don't like to open up to people. I have had past experiences where I have had friends leave or there not my friends anymore, and they have all my secrets that I have told them." 

"But I'm your boyfriend. I'm suppose to know everything about you." 

You don't even know half of me. I thought.

"People leave so it's hard for me." I said. 

"You know I wouldn't leave you." he said and kissed my hand. 

"Yeah, I know." I said not sue if I actually meant it. People move on and betray me. That's what my past has been like. My life had never been easy but I got through it. The only person that I opened up to was Kayla but now that's gone. 

We got to the roller rink. It wasn't crowed but there was a fair amount of people which surprised me 'cause it was a Tuesday night. We went inside and found Jessica and Logan. 

"Hey guys!" said Jessica and Logan at the same time. 

"Hey!" I said. "How long have you guys been here?"  

"Well we all were here about fifteen minutes but then Adrian had to go back to get you, because you ditched school without us. We could have spent the day together." she said as the boys got their roller skates and went to the rink. 

"Yeah, sorry. It's just I didn't even plan to ditch. It's was my sister's idea."  

"Your sister? Since when did she become the rebel?"  

"Not for a long time and won't be ever again. It was after the fight I had with Taylor. She thought that I needed to 'cool off,'" I said with quotation marks." but I didn't mind. I mean who can argue with leaving school?" 

"Nobody. So where did you guys go?" asked Jessica as we got our skates and put them on.  

"We went to this little house she had."  

"A little house? OK that's not weird at all." she said sarcastically. 

"Actually it's pretty nice inside and out. It felt cozy. She had it for about six or seven months." We got in the rink and skated at first we were a little rusty but then we got it. 

"Wait, but why a house?" Jessica asked. 

"I don't know maybe she wanted something for herself, something nobody would want but her." I said 

"Maybe we can-" Jessica said but got interrupted by Logan as he grabbed her bridal style and started spinning. She started screaming and laughing. Then out if no where Adrian does the same thing to me. The boys are like professional skaters. When Adrian puts me down I was kinda dizzy so when I started skating I fell but Adrian caught me. 

"See, I'm always here for you." he said. 

"Thanks." I said. 

"OK I'm going to say what I was going to say to Sarah before you guys start swallowing each other." said Jessica. 

"You know if want some you could have just asked." Adrian said with a smile. I rolled my eyes as he said this.  

"Ugh. Keep dreaming." Jessica said and rolled her eyes.
