Life Could Be A Dream

Life could be a dream,
But I woke up to nightmares.
My heart pounding in my chest,
Knowing something isn't right here.
I herd the voices in my head,
Or were they downstairs?
I pictured a smiling family,
But found broken glass surrounding the frame.
I hoped there was chemistry,
But we went up in flames.
Shivers down my spine,
As he said another mans name.
Aggressively a protest insinuated,
Things started falling into play.
The mirage of a happy family,
Disrupted by flying objects.
A cry out to stop,
But piles of broken things surround the floor.
Miscommunication rattles the foundation of home,
Silence grows louder.
Distance did not make the heart grow fonder,
Children cry out for parents to stay.
The home just a house,
No longer a safety net for kids to play.
A lost love,
In a lost place.
