The stars sit trillions of miles away,
the same way it feels when you turn the other way from me in bed.
And yet your still as lovely as the day I met you,
laying in the grass staring at the night sky when you kissed me for the first time.
The stars shooting through the sky,
while I swear I seen fireworks in your eyes.
The galaxies forming above us while the world turned slowly that night,
the sun peaking over the horizon as you walked me home.
The summer being the most eventful thing of my life that year.
So I thank the cosmos every summer on that night in July,
for giving me you.
