It was a very hectic afternoon when we arrived back from our stay in the beautiful hotel.
All the Christmas presents had been collected from the postal storage unit and brought to the house where myself and Betty discreetly hid them in the garage so that Hailie and Alaina wouldn't find them,

"My back is killing" I put the last present in the garage, Betty was looking at them all,

"This is ridiculous" she shook her head smiling,

"I know I honestly didn't think I would see more presents than in my families Christmas's, but here we are" we made our way back into the house,

"I think they've arrived" Betty smiled at me as we walked through the kitchen, you could hear the girls shouting in excitement, no doubt it was because of the Santa's grotto that the Mathers residence had turned into since they was last here,

"We're ho-ho-home" Marshall bellowed as he came into the kitchen with headphones around his neck and his CD player hanging out of his front pocket,

"Daddy your house is beautiful!" Hailie came bouncing in to my sights,

"Oh you like it huh?" He picked her up, she nodded and kissed his cheek,

"I love it!" Alaina came in eating a fudgesicle,

"Daddy when can Whitney come sleepover?" Hailie asked him,

"When your mom lets her" he put her down and looked at me,

"Well..." I changed the subject for him,
"Who's excited for Santa?!" They both started hyping,

"I'm gonna.. I'm gonna pretend to be asleep like this.." she closed her eyes and used her hands as a pillow,
"And.. and then when Santa comes down the chimney I'm going to sneak out of my bed and I'll ask him to sleepover!"

"Hailie, Santa can't sleep over" Marshall lightly chuckled as he went into the fridge, grabbing a bottle of water,

"Yeah I mean where would he keep his reindeer?" I asked,

"He can erm... put them with Daddy's cars in the garage!"

"Whoa whoa whoa, to hell he can" Marshall shook his head,

"But daaad?" Hailie put her hands on her little hips,

"But dad nothin', they'll scratch my cars. Are you gonna pay for the repairs?" I couldn't help but smile at them,

"Santa can fix it with his magic" she protested,

"Yea well then you tell Santa to bring his bag of magic and come fix up the crayon on your bedroom wall"

"Uh-oh" she gasped,

"Uh-Yeah.. dad found that"

"Uncle Marshall, can I please play out in the snow?" Alaina politely asked as she put her stick in the kitchen bin,

"Yeah, but not for long, it'll be dark soon" He cleared his throat whilst he watched Hailie pulling the zip up and down her coat,
"Ay, quit with that" he knelt down and zipped her back up,

"Daddy don't for get to put out the chocolate milk for Santa"

"What's wrong with normal milk?" He frowned, jokingly, she sighed and rolled her eyes, I was chuckling to myself,
"Alright, chocolate milk.." Marshall stood up, Hailie nodded her head in approval before joining her cousin out in the gardens,

"She's so sassy, I love it" I watched them out of the window, Marshall hugged me from behind also watching them play from over my shoulder,

"Yea well with her moms genes and my genes she's bound to be. Anyway, how's uh, how's your day been?"
