The plane ride had been exhausting, it was a long direct flight from London to Detroit so it felt brilliant to touch soil.
After we got ready we planned to go out with Karlies Aunt Sarah and the family.
I was dressed in a very stylish little black dress, my hair down and straight with an off centre parting , nude lips and a lick of mascara, I was dressed to the nines but I certainly didn't feel it.
We arrived at a swanky bar downtown, we took seats at the bar and waited to be served. I ordered three shots of apple vodka and a double JD...

"Jodes we've just arrived, take it easy" Karlie implied as I downed my third shot and chased it with my whiskey,

"I don't even want to be here" I held my hand up for more shots, the attention was all on me, everyone noticed me, I was struggling with my anxiety, I was trying to drink it away, but I needed something harder than alcohol, but I couldn't, I had to stay away from cocaine,

"Look, I know that you're used to weekends that are full steam ahead but you're getting slaughtered in front of my family, whether you want to be here or not please don't show me up on the first night"

"You know what, you really don't understand how I'm feel right now, you've never dealt with the shit I'm going through and whilst I'm battling my demons you decide to drag me halfway around the world to the same town as someone who ruined me"

"Hey, sexy?" a guy tugged my shoulder,

"Get your fucking hands off me!" I lost my shit!

"Damn lady, chill!"

"What just because I'm in a dress that gives you a right to put your fucking hands on me?!" I replied as I received my shots, he soon walked off but Karlie remained to stare angrily at me,
"Take a picture, might last longer" I said bitterly to her as I took a swig of my drink, not breaking eye contact,

"D'ya know what, you know where we're staying. See you back there" she got up and left me! I sniggered into my glass as I carried on drinking. Just as I took a rest from the alcohol my phone rang, I fumbled in my bag...

"Hello..." I tapped my acrylics against the glass as I stared at it,

"You're in The D?" Em was on the other end, I looked around me, my eyes searching around the club for him,

"How do you know?" I looked over my other shoulder,

"I got told you was spotted comin' off a plane four fucking hours ago Jodie? I told you to let me know when you got here?"

"Why? I'm over it.. us" I put my hand on my forehead,

"The fuck?" He flipped,

"We're obviously not hooking up.. you moved on, and I spent last week with Nikki Sixx, you're nothing special Marshall" I clocked eyes onto a person who looked very misplaced in the club, watching me on the phone,

"Man fuck you Jodie! I don't got time for your bullshit!" he hung up, mission accomplished.
I crammed my phone angrily back into my clutch. The person from the bar still continued to look at me as I ordered another shot... and then another, and another... I felt the room start to slightly blur now, it was fucking hard to keep up with the alcohol without something to take the edge off.
I began to feel slightly nauseated as I made my way through the crowd to the ladies room. My head was beginning to uncomfortably spin as I reached the toilets, Karlie's cousin Nick was outside of the toilets on his phone, that was until he clocked onto me heading to the toilets...

"Jodie?" He approached me, "You okay baby?"

"I'm not your baby... I've had a little to much to drink that's all" I hiccuped as I stood with him, he smiled at me, his dark eyes blazing into me uncomfortably,
