"Very good, now hold steady" Professor McGonagall instructed Lina, she held her hands out in front of her using her magic to hold up Professor McGonagall's desk with everything still on it. "Don't break concentration" Lina gave the professor the smallest of nods to show she heard. "And now lower it, gently, gently" the desk hit the ground with no noise and everything on it still standing. "Very good."
Lina smiled "thank you, Professor. Will there ever be a time when I won't need to concentrate so hard?"
"You're improving much quicker than I expected, so it won't be much longer, most likely shortly after the Christmas break" Professor McGonagall turned from her desk to the girl "while I have you miss Lina I'll ask you now about your Christmas plans."
Lina smiled to herself "I'm going home this year to spend Christmas with my uncle."
"Send him my regards."
"I will." Lina went to pick up her bag but thought again and instead waved her hand, her bag started floating "have a good Christmas Professor McGonagall."
The professor gave her a kind smile "thank you miss Lina, you too."
She left the classroom her bag floating next to her, she walked unbothered into the common room, as she entered she was greeted by some very loud out of tune singing.
"We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Good tidings-"
"What the" Lina stopped dead in the doorway, Lucy had a blanket tied around her neck and was twirling around while Danny was glaring at her and Cedric trying to read a letter.
"Are you done yet?" Danny snapped from his position on the floor.
Lucy glared down at him "We wish you a Merry Christmas-"
Lina sat herself down in between the two boys and pulled a bit of Cedric's blanket to cover her "I'm going to kill her" Danny muttered.
"I might help you, It's the fifth time I've read this paragraph," Cedric said, if Cedric was talking about killing Lucy then they were both getting very annoyed.
"How long has she been singing for?" Lina asked.
"Since you left for McGonagall's" Danny answered still glaring at Lucy.
"That was three hours ago."
"Really because it feels like so much longer" Cedric groaned, next to Lina Danny picked up a nearby pillow and threw it at Lucy, she stopped singing for a moment, blinking that the sudden force to her face but then started up again and this time even louder.
