chapter 13 jinsei

Kung Lao, Kung Jin and Y/n head to the wu shi temple.

(Y/n pov)

Kung Lao: So Liu Kang and I are dead, and you have a son with a elder god?

Y/n: Yeah.

Kung Lao: And where is she?

Y/n: Probably trying to fix time with the others.

Liu Kang: We should be there soon.

Kung Lao: Can we trust Raiden, his actions got us killed!?

Y/n: That haunted him. For twenty plus years.  And now that this Raiden knows. I'm sure he will not make the same mistakes.

We made it to the temple.  There were dead Shaolin everywhere. 

Y/n: They died defending our sacred ground.

We made it to the trap dungeon.  In our way was a three large swinging axes

Kung Lao: How do we disarm the traps?

Liu Kang: Watch for the pattern and pick your moment.

Liu Kang dived safely through the traps.

Kung Lao jammed the gears with his hat and then him and I walked through. 

Kung Lao: Easy enough. What's next.

Liu Kang: Everything. Poison gas, shooting spears.

Y/n: Don't forget the flame jets.

Kung Lao: How about we avoid those?

The place started locking down. We looked at Kung Lao.

Kung: I did NOT do that.

A rope spear hit the wood pillar in between us. We looked to see past Scorpion. 

Scorpion: I did.

Liu Kang: Scorpion. Of course you survived the time merger.

Scorpion: You will not stop Kronika. From restoring my family and clan.

Y/n: You two try to stop the traps. I got this.

Scorpion tried to hell port to me. It didn't work as he planned and I dodged the attack.   He tried to kick me but I blocked it and delivered three swift but heavy blows. And to finish it one heavy hook knocking Scorpion down. 

Scorpion got up  and gas started to fill the room. Liu and Kung ran to me as Scorpion teleported away. A cage fell over us and we were stuck.  We were coughing from the gas. But as it seemed like the end the traps were stopped by someone. 

Liu: It stopped. *coughs* Why?

The cage lifted off of us. A gate opened and Revenant Jade and Scorpion appeared.

Jade: Our plans require that you live.

Liu: Jade? What happened to you?

Y/n: Sindel killed her. She is not the Jade you know.

Jade: It was because of Raiden.

Y/n: You two! Deal with Scorpion. I'll defeat Jade.

Liu and Kung listend.  Jade pulled out her bo and charges for me. She went for a swing. I dodged and grabbed the bo, I swung her around before slamming her down hard on her back. Before she could get up I kicked her again knocking her out.    I watched Liu and Kung defeat Scorpion.

I couldn't help but feel happy to have them back. Even if this was only temporary.  It felt good to fight beside them again.

After that we moved on to the Jinsei chamber. We were met by Kung Lao and Liu kang's revenants.  And an unknown man. I went to fight the unknown man.

?: Y/n L/n. I am Geras. You should join Kronika. It will ensure you're family's place in the new era.

Y/n: What do you mean?

Geras: You're mother in law, Kronika. She is creating a new era. One that will be balanced.

Y/n: I like this era.

Geras: Cetrion is already in on the plan. It was so much easier since all the convincing needed was was the survival of you're family. If you are smart you will join them. 

Y/n: You'll regret bringing my family into this. 

Geras: An unlikely outcome. 

In one punch I knocked his head off his shoulders.  But to my surprise, sands lifted his head back on.

Geras: Kronika prepared me for this battle. I have died countless times and have come back every time.

I charged and started battling with Geras. He was surprisingly matching me step for step. But I managed to knock him down for a few seconds. Liu and Kung joined me as their revenants were defeated.  We went to charge but Liu and Kung got frozen.

Y/n: What did you do?!

Geras: It was supposed to freeze you too. Surprising. 

Out of nowhere I felt a blade go through my side. I looked to see Jade had pierced me with a blade. She pulled it out and I hit the ground.  She went to kill me but Geras stopped her.

Geras: You are not allowed to kill him. Kronika forbids it.

Jade listened. 

I watched them take the Jinsei and leave. Seconds after Liu and Kung got free. They saw me.

Liu: Are you alright Y/n?

Y/n: Yeah. Just help me, this shit hurts.

Kung helped me on my feet and threw my arm around him.

Kung: What do we do?

Y/n: All we can do. Head back and see what's next.

We headed back. I worried for Cetrion. She is with them. And I was not sure how Khronos was going to take it.  And what this would mean if we lost or won.
