TRIS PRIOR'S POV
We reach the girl and there's dead ones all around her. About 10. She's standing up with a small knife and she's backed up against a brick wall, she kills some but most close in on her. Four runs up and stabs the ones closer to her in the head.
I slice the heads off of dead ones that start to run to us. After they are all dead, which wasn't much since Four and I were used to big groups. I looked at the girl, she seemed to be 22 or 23 years old with short black hair and brown skin. She has a tall, slender figure and brown, curious yet frightened, eyes.
She is wearing jeans and a white, yet full of dirt, long sleeved shirt, and black worn out boots are placed on her feet. And a black backpack is on her back.
Our clothes are a bit familiar , they are both worn out since everyone doesn't have a closet full of clothing anymore.
"Thank you," she states.
"No problem," I say. Four clears his throat and I glance at him.
He wants to leave. I ignore him, I look back at the girl.
"I'm Tris, and this is Four." I tell her. She nods at Four, he simply nods and looks away.
"I'm Christina." She says, I nod swiftly and Four grips my arm. he moves closer until his soft lips touch my ear.
"We have to leave. Now." He whispers, still gripping my arm. He pulls away. I sigh but listen to him.
"Nice meeting you Christina." I state. We turn around and start walking until she stops us.
"Wait, we have a camp." I turn at her voice and I feel Four's warning glares, but he turns too.
"Where?" He asks.
"Not anywhere close from here. I'm waiting for my friend from the camp to pick me up, he has a car." She tells us. I gasp. A car?
"Why did he leave you here?" Four asks.
"A run, he left me here to get a meds run, I already did the run earlier." She says. " He'll be here soon," she states, "if only I can drive." She added so softly that she probably thought we couldn't hear her.
"How many people are in your camp?" Four questions.
" About 10. " She responds. I look at Four, he seems unsure.
"Four." I state and go closer to him. I whisper in his ear, " We need to go. More people means more protection, and I'm pregnant." He exhales a long breath.
"Fine. We'll go. Fine." He declares loudly. Christina nods.
"Let's wait for Uriah then." She responds and sits down.
~~~~~~TIME LAPSE~~~~
I stand for a long time as Christina is still sitting, she opens her backpack and takes out pill bottles, she takes out about 10 bottles. She reads every label and ponders about every container.
After a really long time of uncomfortable silence, Four breaks the silence.
"Is that him?" He questions, pointing at a grey, beaten down, SUV. Christina nods, packs and stands up. The car stops and a guy comes out.
He's tall with brown hair and brown skin, he has brown, kind, eyes. He's wearing a brown T-shirt and denim pants and sneakers are on his feet.
"Hey Uriah." Christina states.
"Hey Chris, mind explaining who they are?" He asks, nodding in our way.
"They saved me, they can join the group, right?" She questions. Uriah glances at us.
"I don't know Chris." Uriah says.
" Uri, they saved me, we can repay them."
"Fine." He says reluctantly. My stomach churns and I realize I'm about to vomit. I turn and throw up. I feel Four's hand on my back, he pulls back my hair. I pull back and wipe my vomit from my mouth with the back of my hand.
Uriah and Christina look at us, waiting for an explanation.
"I'm pregnant." I state. Their eyes widen. I feel Four's strong arms wrap around my waist.
"He's the father?" Uriah asks. I nod swiftly. Uriah nods slightly and looks like he is pondering, then he speaks, "Well let's go then."
