TRIS PRIOR'S POV
Ace comes back into the room, his face is blank and expressionless. My hands were chained back and Tobias is with Louis, the boy who let us in.
Louis sits in a chair near me and he's rocking Toby back and forth. I glance back at Ace, he's walking towards me.
He doesn't say anything which frightens me.
He unchains my hands and legs.
"Get up." He droned. "Don't try anything or I'll kill your son."
I stand up slowly. Is it my time to die? Will he kill me?
"Step in front of me." He demands, I do as what he commands, like an obedient dog.
The cold muzzle of the gun presses onto my back. A shiver runs through my spine.
"Louis, get Jonas and the others." Ace states.
"Yes sir." I hear Louis respond before he scrambles out of the room with my baby.
After what seems like an hour, Louis comes back, with my infant still in his arms, and a group of people are behind him."Get them to Jeanine's office." Ace says.
"Yes sir." They mutter.
Then, Ace nudges me with the gun. "Move," he whispers.
I do what he says.
~TIME LAPSE~
We arrive at an office, or whats left of one, the white wall paper is peeled, showing a brown color instead. There's only a desk and two chairs. That's all.The windows are pulled back slightly, a dull yellow shines through.
There's a woman that I know, Jeanine Matthews, sitting at a chair in front of the desk. Her grey watery eyes watch me curiously. Before the apocalypse started, she was a faction leader. "Thank you Ace, where are the other prisoners?" She asks.
"They are coming miss," Ace replied. Right after Ace stated that, the door behind us opens, I don't dare to glance behind me.
"Take off that tape from their mouths." She commands, eyeing all of us cautiously.
I hear the sound of the duct tape pulling away from skin rapidly.
Jeanine smiles at all of us, a smile that I never trusted in the start.
"Hello, some of you may recognize me. I am Jeanine Matthews, I was a erudite leader. All of you are possibly frightened to the core of your souls, but not to worry, I'm going to run a few tests on all of you. Then, I'll let you go." Jeanine tells us.
"What kind of tests?" I hear Christina question, her voice full of demand and anger.
"I think I can save the world." Jeanine says, ignoring Chris's question.
"What kind of tests?" Christina shouts. Jeanine purses her lips together.
"Divergent tests." She harshly responds. What?
"What does saving the world have to do with those freaks?" Christina asks.
"They have something in their brain. Perhaps, it is a cure." Something in their brain...
"So, if one of us is divergent...you'll carve into our brain. And what if there is no cure?"
"You were candor huh? You talk a lot."Jeanine states, giving Chris another fake smile that can't even fool a 5-year old.
"Yes. But that was the past..." Christina grits through her teeth. "Answer my question."
"There's a cure. I'm positive." Jeanine finally replies. "Now, if there isn't any more questions...let's get started."
"Wait." I hear Four interject, "how long will these tests take?"
"A day or so." Jeanine states. Then Jeanine adds," Then I'll let you go."
I wish I can feel better then the way I'm feeling now.
But I can't.
Since I already know I'm going to be dead after I take those tests.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I have a clarification I want to make.1. Everyone stayed in their old factions, when they took the test, they chose the same faction they were in. (Ex: Four in Abnegation. Tris in Abnegation.)
That's all! Also, tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Maybe your Christmas Eve already passed or your Christmas passed but I just want to tell everyone Merry Christmas! 😄🎁🎉
If you don't celebrate it, then forget I said that. XD
Okay, I'll update ASAP. Bye! Thanks for reading this chapter!
