Both armies slowly moved towards one another. Leading the front lines of the Outlands was Kopa. And leading the Pride Land's charge was the king himself, Simba. Each side glared at one another, silently daring their opposer to strike first.

"This is your last chance to stop this!", Simba called to Kopa.

The opposing lion held his calm demeanor when he spoke.
"We do not intend to stop. We have everything to fight for and even more to lose. You fight only for the sake of your land while we fight for our very lives." The many hyena's, jackals and other Outlanders that stood behind Kopa raised their voices in agreement." Today shall be the day that the Pride Lands falls."

"I swear by the Great Kings of the Past that I will never let this land be taken over for yourself!", Simba roared.

"I do this not for my own benefit, but for all those who are currently suffering and dying while you, King Simba, turned a blind eye", Kopa challenged.

Kion grimaced a bit at those words. Was it really true? Were the Outlanders really out there starving and dying. All these years he saw them as villian who just wanted to take over everything. But we're they actually the victims...?

"Hey, Kion. What'cha thinking about?", Bunga whispered in Kion's ear, noticing his blank staring.

"What do you think, Bunga? Are we the ones in the wrong?", Kion asked the honey badger.

"What? No way. Where the Lion Guard. It's our job to keep the Outlanders who want to invade our land. Just like they did before we were born", Bunga argued. "They're the ones who came here and started a war against us!"

"Hmmm. I guess you're right, Bunga", Kion sighed and focused his gaze back on the conflict at hand.

"You really think you can still win? You are severely outnumbered and most of your army is defeated", Nala pointed out.

"Ah, yes. But there is one thing unaccounted for. You have put up a good fight, but this is as far as it goes", Kopa shook his head. Zira, Vitani and the other Outlanders recognized this as the signal and collectively moved back. The Pride Landers looked among each other in confusion. Some even assumed the opposing forces were retreating.

Kopa took a step forward and took a deep breath. He could hear the voice of Scar once again. Concentrate on the fury inside of you and roar with as much power as you can! He didn't exactly understand what that meant since he never used it before, but he did as he was told. As the deep growl started in his chest the skies above began to change from a calm blue and quickly filled with dark grey clouds that carried an aggressive atmosphere. Before any of the Pride Landers realized what was happening Kopa released a roar that sent a threatening bolt of lightning across the sky. The power of the roar sent many animals flying back. The royal family clung low to thhhe ground in hopes of riding it out.

"Kion what going on--?!", Bunga yelled as his claws slipped and he was blown into the air and carried off.

"Bunga!!!", Kion cried out, watching helplessly as his mate disappeared from his view. A sharp, stinging pain throbbed through his head. The prince groaned in pain as the sudden headache became worse and worse.

"Kion!", Nala called to her son. The surrounding roar subsided and the queen rushed over to her son. "What's wrong?" Kion did not respond still writhing on the ground in pain.

"What that--? Is everyone okay?", Simba asked his allies.

"Everyone seems to be shaken up but not injured!", Ono responded from above. The rest of the Guard came in, also feeling the power of the Roar and felt their skills would be needed.

"No one injured back there", Fuli confirmed, rushing in.

"Yeah, a few hippos were on their backs but they're fine mostly", Beshte added, stomping up.

"Thank you, Lion Guard", Simba nodded.

"So was that the Roar?", Fuli asked, loooking over at Kopa.

"I thought the Roar was lost", Beshte agreed.

"Well, it's not lost anymore", Ono thought to himself.

"How are you using the Roar?!", Simba snarled at Kopa. Kopa simply shook his head and chuckled to himself. Simba was about to challenge the lion himself when he was suddenly knocked to the ground from behind.

"What--?", Simba got up and twisted around to meet his foe but to his own surprise it was Kion. "K-Kion?"

The prince was about the attack the king again but was held back by Kovu and Beshte. Kion struggled desperately trying to get free.

"Kion! What's going on?!", Fuli called to Kion. But Kion continued to struggle, not hearing a word. Simba looked at his son and gasped. His eyes were not normal. They were glowing a familiar piercing green that brought back horrible memories.
