Trigger Warnings: Profanity
Mike's POV:
Even though I know he doesn't want to, I'm glad Will stayed. I don't really wanna play Max's shit game but it was a good way to make Will stay. I wanted to ask Will, and only Will, to come but El always wants to hang out after school. Don't get me wrong, I love her, I just need some space sometimes.
"What's spin the bottle?" El asks. God she's clueless, isn't she.
"Let's say I spin the bottle." Max says pointing at the bottle. "You know, like how we did this summer, with the names." I see El shutter at the thought. "And the tip points to Lucas. I would have to kiss Lucas. It's simple, really."
I look at Will. He looks uncomfortable. Miserable. I feel bad for forcing him to stay. I know he really doesn't want to be here.
We get in a circle and I grab an empty Coca Cola bottle from the recycling bin.
"I'll start." Max says. She gives the bottle a good spin. It slows down and then suddenly stops. I look up to see who it landed on. Will. Will gulps and Max's face gets red. Tomato red.
"Sorry Lucas, I have to. For the game." Max says giggling. I roll my eyes.
Will sighs. "Just get it over with please."
Max gets up from her spot in the circle and gets on her knees. She cups her hands around his cheeks. She leans in and presses her lips against his. I feel my throat swell up. Even though the kiss was just for a split second, it felt like an eternity. I don't know why I feel like this. I know I don't like Max. She's so annoying and I don't even know how El can stand her. I barely can. But why do I feel like this.
I look over at Will and see his face. It isn't nearly as red as Max's. My heart starts to feel heavier and heavier in my chest. I love El. I love El. And only El
When I spin, it lands on El. She's already next to me so I lean over and give her a short peck.
El looks over at me concerned. "Why so short?"
I look away what has gotten into me?
