Mike's POV:

When I get out of the car, I see Will. I don't get a good look at him until I get out of the car. El interlaces her hand in mine as I look over at Will. He looks gorgeous. I mean. Well...

"Will." I pause. To stare at him a bit longer. "You look-"

"Hot!" Max says. I thought she was dating Lucas. Another breakup maybe?

I walked away with El and she whispered something in my ear. I can't focus on it but I giggle anyways. I'm lost, thinking about that Byers boy.

After 2nd period I see Max and Will talking. Are they together? Why would will decide to be with someone so rude?

A sudden feeling floods my body. I don't know what it is, but it's like a stomach ache but also in my heart. I make my way to my 3rd period and all I can think about is him.

At lunch Max seats herself between Lucas and Will. I look away as I wait for her to do something to rub in the fact that she is dating Will.

"Hey!" El says sitting next to me. I giggle and hide whatever I was feeling about Max and Will.

I notice through lunch Will is silent. Maybe shy about everyone knowing about him and Max? Or is it the same thing from yesterday after school?

"Will, you okay?" I ask

"Yeah. Just tired I guess."

"Same." El and I giggle at the same time.

"Awwwwww! Has anyone told you that you two look so cute together?" Max asks excitedly.

"Max, what the hell?" I want to yell at her to stay away from Will, but I know I can't.

"You okay?" El asks Max.

"Yep! Just in a great mood!" Weird. She never is.

"And it looks great on you." Lucas flirts and kisses her. Huh. So Max and Will must not be together. I know he would never do that to Lucas and neither would Max.

After lunch I have 4th period algebra with Lucas and Will. When I get to class I sit with them at the back of the room.

"Hey! You okay? You seemed pretty pissed at Max at lunch." Lucas says as I sit down.

"How many times have you broken up with her?" I ask. Will looks over at us and then looks down at his feet.

"Mike, I don't know. Why?"

"Isn't that kinda toxic?" I ask Lucas. I look over at Will who's face is red. He gulps. "Will you alright?"

"Yeah." His voice cracks.

"You can tell us anything." Lucas says gently to Will.

"No. No. I'm fine. Seriously." He looks up and gives Lucas the same smile as he gave me yesterday.

What is he hiding? Is he dating Max behind Lucas's back?

At the end of the day I need to talk to Will. But not here. I see him grab his bike.

I walk over and stuff my hands in my pockets. "Hey Will. You can come over to mine again. I mean if you want."

"I um." He pauses and scratches his head. "I have to go meet my mom at the store."

"It'll just be you and me. Promise. No El or Max or anyone." I tell him, hoping he'll say yes. Partly because I just want to hang out with him.

"Fine. But only if you PROMISE no one else will be there." He crosses his arms and smirks a bit. It's cute.

I hold my right hand up and cross my left hand over my heart. "I promise."

We both laugh. Well more like giggle. His is super cute. I get lost in his eyes while our laughs mix. Both of our smiles fade when El tugs on my arm.

"My dad is here, Mikey!"

"Bye Mike." Will says lightly.

"Bye." I say unenthusiastically.

When we get into Hopper's car, he talks to El about her day and other stuff I don't care about. I miss him. I miss him already.

Do I like Will?
