Trigger Warnings: None

Mike's POV:

After Will and I walk out of the Speech and Debate room, we make our way toward the lunch table. I see Max running her hands through Lucas's hair while they gaze into each others eyes between kisses. I look over to Will, who's eyes are rolling.

Will sits in front of Lucas "Where's Dustin?" I didn't even notice he was gone.

"With Pam. She needed History help." Lucas responds as he looks up only for a split second.
Will sighs and looks to me and I nod.

"Promise." I whisper under my breath so only he can hear.

Max looks up from Lucas's glance and giggles at Will. "I have something to tell you guys at Mike's later today."

Her snarky tone makes me gulp. I think I know what she's talking about. Will's face gets hot and he doesn't look away from him. I can tell he has something he wants to say to her. I don't want him to say anything he'll regret so I decide to speak up. "Funny thing cause I do as well!"

Max laughs and looks from Will to me as she says, "Oh I think you will really want to hear what I have to say." I glare at her as the bell rings.

"Bye guys." Lucas says concerned as he slips away from the table faster than anyone can. I stay as Will slips away as well.

Max stays and smiles at me. I roll my eyes and start to get up from the table when I hear Max's voice. "Wait."

I slide back down into my seat as I roll my eyes for the thousandth time today. "What could you possibly want?"

"I want you to know something." Max folds her hands together.

"Save it." I stand up and speed walk toward my calculus class.

I know the last thing I want to hear is Max telling me about how Will feels when he isn't around. Of course it would be better now than earlier since I know about how he feels, but it still isn't right. I don't want to talk about Will when he isn't there. That's why I need them to know when he's there.

When I get to class I see Dustin's cheeks pink and a smile plastered on his face. I grab a textbook from the back of the room and take a seat next to him. "Why do you look so happy?"

"Pam is the sweetest." Dustin says as he looks down at his twiddling fingers. "Can she come over today after school?"

My eyes widen and my eyebrows raise above them. "S-sure." I stutter.

"Good." Dustin looks up and I let my face muscles relax. "Cause I asked her already."

We both laugh, except my laughter is extremely forced. I'm really gonna just come out to a complete stranger? And if I don't Will might never trust me again. What do I do?

When Ms. Foster starts her lesson, I can't focus because I can't think about anything except how hard it is going to come out to not just my friends that I've known forever, but also this complete stranger that I have only heard of through Dustin. I know she has to be nice because Dustin has at least a little class (well except for his first girlfriend from camp, Susie) and I also know that I shouldn't think of the negatives because there are so many positives. Like the fact that I will have a huge weight lifted from my shoulders and that I can be myself. But the best part is that I can be freely with Will. Sure there will be bulling but I know I can stand it as long as that boy gets to be mine.
