Chapter 5 - Cheese and Crackers

One of the girls stepped out of the crowns, she had white tattoo marking on her. 'She must be a leader.'

"Who."

Lance POV

I make myself noticeable, I watch how there tense up. "We come in peace, we came here to live in peace. I'm Lance, this is Keith." I point at Genta, "And this is a new member of our group, Genta." 

Genta rubs herself on my side and I smile a bit, I hear some gasp from the others so I look up at them confusingly. The others look at there leader and she nods, "Protect." She points at me, "Him." 

She walks towards us and the rest put their weapons away, "Follow us, to our village. Not far." I look at Keith and he looks at me, he nods and holds my hand. As she leads us through the forest, the others surround us in a protective circle. 

After a while, we made it to a lively village, we watched the busy streets and markets with the wooden and clay houses spread across the open land. As we walk through the town I notice parents with there kids, some with 2 moms or 2 dads. It seems that gender is not a problem, they look happy and I can't help but smile. 

We make it to a large hut, the warriors disperse while the leader opens the light cloth used as a door. When we walk in we see a woman in a fancy tribal outfit with a simple yet graceful crownlike piece on her head. 

"Hello, and who might you be. My daughter, please explain." 

She nods and grabs a basket full of fruit, she sets it in front of us and sits next to her mother. "Please, eat." I look and Keith as he evaluates the situation, the only fruit in this basket was the white oranges and the weird shaped fruit with white dots Keith ate earlier. 
I pick up the white fruit and Keith picks up the other, we eat it in delight I can't help but moan at the splendid flavor. 

I hear a light gasp, I look up to see the women a bit surprised but her daughter continues, "They're not from this world, do you understand?" The women nod, "My name is Katina and this is my daughter Tana. You are on our planet Mother. What and how did you get here, our planet is hidden unlike others, this planet keeps us safe from the wonders of the galaxy. Tell us your story."

I stay silent so Keith tells them, I'm surprised he trust them but they soon understand that our reason for being here is to live in peace. 

Katina smiles, "I understand, our plant must have sensed that and drew you too us."

I start to get confused, "What do you mean the planet."

Tana elaborate, "We call this plant Motherbecasue like started before it protects us from the dangers of the universe like was its children. When our people first came together despite our cultural differences from thriving in different climates the planet protected us. Meters came down from the sky but not a single one fell, the planet we stand on protected us."

The Keith ask, "So why did you want to protect Lance and why were so so surprised about the fruit thing?"

Katina decides to answer, "Well as you probably already saw some men women have to ability to give birth with there own gender, we call them Megas. We find out by the fruit we offered you, the white fruit or the Erm can only be enjoyed by those who can do so. I assumed that when you tried it Keith it was bitter and dry?" He nods, "Well that shows that you don't have that ability, what shocks us the most is that a being from another planet has the ability to do so. I might be the reason you two were allowed to get in."

I blush a bit, 'I can have kids? I guess that's a good thing, I could have kids with Keit-.'

I cut myself off and try to think of something else, 'Bad Lance!'

Katina continues, "Very few Megas have the ability to attract the most exotic and dangerous animals of the forest, they are very protective of there ken and try to attack when they get close. But the cat seems to like you a lot, Lance."

As she saws that Genta comes over and lays her head on my lap. 

Katina thinks for a moment, "You two may return to your home, you are always welcomed to come and go as you please in this village. I guarantee that his Voltron you speak of will not find us, so you two are safe." I give her a warm smile, "Thank you."

Hunk POV

We can't find them anywhere.

We're losing allies fast and the Galra are tearing us apart. We found Matt but the lions won't accept him, they won't accept anyone. Pidge tried to hack into them but every time she tried her computer would shit down or she'd get electrocuted.

We are currently in hiding, yes Voltron is hiding. 

We're not in the position to fight, our lions are hay wiring and every time we fight they don't want to cooperate. Mine is the only that seems to be fine.

On top of that, the team is falling apart. Pidge is working herself to the bone, Allura snaps at anyone who speaks to her, Shiro trains to no end and Coran disappears in the ship.

I'm trying to keep them together but it's not working.

I don't know what to do or how long we're going to last.

"Cheese and Crackers, what are we going to do."
