Chapter 9 - Practice?

Lance POV

The warm feeling of a pair of arms brings a smile to my face. The only thing I'm missing is my furry friend and the sun that lit up our home. I open my eyes, look up at my raven-haired lover, smiling I kiss his chin. His rip tightens a bit as he opens eyes. Looking down at me he smiles and gives me a quick peck on the lips. 

I bury my face in his chest, cherishing our moment together. "Want to see our lions? It's pretty early so no one can disturb us~" I nod in his chest, not wanted to leave his warmth. He chuckles giving me a quick peck on the forehead, "Come on, let's get ready." 

We get out of bed, I can't help but shiver when my warm skin hits the cool air. We quickly get dressed in our new uniform. A gift from Coran, we got the colors changed just a bit though. Instead of the dominant color being white we went for dark grey instead. Keith likes it because it expresses how we're not a part of Voltron, just here to help and leave when everything blows over.

To be completely honest, I'm cool with that. I'm excited to leave once the war is over. But I'm even more excited about starting a family with Keith, having a kid or two running around makes my heart skip a beat. 

Once we're dong getting dressed we head out making our way to see Red and Blue. Once we get there I smile at the Lions, all lined up like before. My smile quickly turns into a frown, when I notice there beat up. Well all of them except Red and Blue. Maybe we should have stayed, I know that some might think there just bolts and metal but they play such a big role.

I whisper, "Don't worry, this war will end sooner." 

I walk up to the Black Lion with Keith following close behind, We place our hand on the nose. "Help us a little bit longer, peace is just around the corner." 

I feel a large surge of energy, we step back to see their eyes begin to glow. In our moment of shock, they roar in sync, shaking the castle around us. A wave of happiness washes over, I can't help but smile. Once they stop I giggle, running to Blue. Keith joins me in my little laughing part as he takes large strides to Red. As I sit on Blues' head I look around at the other lions. I don't know how to put it, but the energy in the room seems to be brighter. 

Our peace soon comes to an end as loud footsteps echo through the hall's way. Seconds later, Princess Allura, Prince Lotor, Coran and the others come in on high alert, weapons and all. I look down at them, "Good Morning!"

They look up at me, Allura still a bit frantic looks around. "Are we under attack!? Is there and Intruder1? Why did the Lions roar!?" I look at her and tilt my head to the side, "I think that was Keith and me, we were going to ride our lions. They seemed happy when we came in." 

A soft chuckle fills the air, but not from Keith it was from Prince Lotor. He smirks at me, "Looks like your blue gem has a lot of tricks up his sleeve~"

I can practically feel the lust coming off of him, I feel a shiver up my spine. I give him a very very fake smile, trying my very best to mask the uncomfortable pit in my stomach. Before he can say anything else a dagger lands right next to him, piercing the floor.

I notice a cut form on the Prince's cheek, he glares at Keith almost growling at him. Keith holds his fierce glare, "I already told you, he's taken. Keep flirting with him and next time I won't miss." Like magic in their eyes, he holds out his hand his dagger returns to it like clockwork. They stare wide-eyed, I hold back my laughter. 

'I guess they didn't see the string attached.'

I look down, "Allura may you open the hatch, we need to dust off the controls." 

One I finish my sentence both Red and Blue open there mouth, I look at Keith and smile as our eyes met. We get in, soon disappearing in our Lions. I walk through the open door, once I sit down in my seat the controls start to glow. 

"Doesn't this bring back memories?"

The glowing only increases as the screen lights up showing the others staring at us. I click a small blinking button, "Um..Allura?" He looks at me, still a bit shocked but at least I got her attention. "Can you open up that hatch?" She runs out, with the others following close behind. 

Some minutes pass, the room starts to slow a light red as the hitch opens. I push the lever forward, Blue fly out of the ship once she gets out far enough we turn to see Red come out as well.

"Let's destroy some asteroids!" We start to test out or beams, lasers, and all available weapons, all seem to be working well. I click another button, "Hey Keith, everything is looking good. Ready to back?" 

He quickly responds, "Yeah, lets head back."

Once we get back in the hitch closes behind us, before I could get out Hunk shouts out. "Wait don't get out yet! Allura wants us to form Voltron!" 

I click the button once again, "OK!" 

Hunk and Pidge get in there Lions, I look over to see Shiro having trouble. Usually, you can get in at least but his won't even let him in. "Um, you guys! Mine's not letting me in!"
