Chapter 25

~ Avoidance ~

JHOANA

It has been two days since that Sunday lunch with Beatriz and my family. Also, two days of me always going home by commuting since Bea was also very busy lately.

She barely replies to my messages too which was odd. Nag simula lang naman lahat ng 'to nung umuwi na siya after niya kumain dito.

~ Flashback ~

I was just wiping my hands since I just finished washing the dishes ng biglang nakasalubong ko si Bea.

"Oh, ang bilis mo naman mag cr?" Natatawa kong sabi.

Bea looked shocked but tried to cover it up instantly with a smile.

"Y-yeah. Binilisan ko kasi Jaja needed to use the rest room too."

I nodded, still weirded out by the way she was acting. She got her wallet and some of her belongings on the console table.

"Uuwi ka na?" I asked confused.

"I have to go, those assignments won't accomplish themselves." Bea joked at nagbeso agad agad.

"Uhh sige." I nodded again.

"Mag paalam nalang ako ki tita Lovel, she's in the sala right?"

"Yeah, nag paalam ka na ba ki Jaja?"

Her eyes widened again but she awkwardly stuttered and chuckled. Pero nahalata ko parin. Something wasn't right.

"Oo!" Medyo napalakas ang boses niya kaya nahiya pa siya ng onti. "I mean yeah. K-kanina pa."

"Ahh okay. Ingat ka sa pag drive."

She waved goodbye one last time and just as she left, Jaja entered the dining area.

"May napapansin ka ba kay Beatriz?" Diretsong tanong ko sakanya. And just like Bea awhile ago, her eyes widened in panic. She grabbed the apple at the center of the table and quickly took a bite.

"Huh? Wala naman." She casually said. "Why did you ask?"

"Ewan, parang nagmamadali kasi umalis eh."

"Ahh, eh diba sabi niya marami daw siyang homework." Jaja shrugged. She took a small seed from the apple and threw it at me. "Bakit ate? Miss mo naman agad?"

I rolled my eyes habang natawa naman si Jaja habang kumakain.

~ End of Flashback ~

"Hellooooo? Jhow? Were you even listening?"

Jia snapped her fingers in front of me.

"Malamang hindi." Maddie answered for me.

"Sorry, Ji. Ano nga ulit yun?"

"Sabi ko, hanggang kailan nandito si Jaja, para naman maka bonding din namin. Na miss ko na rin yung batang yun."

"Ahh, wala eh. She went back to Bantangas kaninang umaga lang."

"Sayang naman." Maddie replied. "Uy, we'll eat nga pala ng lunch since we have free cuts later. Daanan ka nalang ni Jia?"

Umiling naman ako agad.

"No, huwag na I have to finish a report pa."
