JHOANA

I opened my eyes because of the blinding sunlight. I expected my head to throb and experience the classic hangover feeling but surprisingly, I just feel tired.

I felt someone enter Jia's guest room and saw Maddie munching on a piece of bread.

"Oh, gising ka na pala. Labas na, I made breakfast."

I ignored her and rolled on to the other side of the bed as I hear her call Jia.

I finally opened my eyes and saw Jia holding two more pillows. She was about to throw them at me again but I caught it this time.

"Wait nga! What are you talking about? What happened last night?" I asked still confused on why was Jia so angry.

"Sinukahan mo lang naman po yung naghatid satin dito sa condo last night. And most of all, she was the possible carpool driver I was talking about, nakakahiya ka!" Jia continued hitting me with her body pillow this time which made it twice painful.

"What? I thought Zolo was the one who picked us up!"

Bigla namang sumingit si Maddie at pumasok na rin sa kwarto.

"Yeah, kaso nga nakatulog si Zolo. Kaya itong si Jia, tinawagan si Bea para sunduin tayo."

Who's Bea?

"But of course, you don't know her 'cause you were dead ass drunk last night." Natatawang sabi pa ni Maddie.

"Nakakahiya talaga, Jho. Nag magandang loob lang si Beatriz na ihatid tayo up until here inside the condo tapos nasukahan mo lang."

Hiyang hiya naman ako sa sarili ko. Grabe, ganon ba talaga ako kalasing? I buried my face in my hands as I tried to remember the events of what happened last night.

"Do you have her number para I can apologize manlang?" I hopefully asked.

"I do. Pero hayaan mo na, you'll meet her when I finally introduce you as her carpool buddy for this sem." Jia was about to stand up and go out of the room when I stopped her.

"Hey! I haven't even thought about signing up for that! Who knows maybe she already hates me, baka ayaw na niya na ako ang maging ka-carpool niya."

"Too late, I already signed you up. Lumabas ka na diyan and eat, you still have a google form you need to fill up." She walked out of the room as I also stood up and freshened myself up.

I walked out of her guest room and sat beside Maddie. I drank the coffee Jia prepared for me as she handed me her laptop with the google form page on the screen.

"Go ahead, answer the form." Sabi ni Jia na parang nanay ngayon na pinapanood ang kanyang anak sumagot ng test.

Simple lang naman yung mga tanong, ano ang course ko, ano ang schedule ko at saan ako nakatira.

Through the form, the application was able to made an account already. I even posted a picture for the app to place it as my profile picture.

Next step was finding myself a driver.

"Welcome to Ateneo Carpool!"
AY  2019 - 2020

The application finally opened after a long process of screening. This is also for the riders and the members' safety. Private information of students are shown on their profiles, that's why the officials were very strict in terms of letting people join it.
