Chapter 12

~ Org Games ~

BEATRIZ

"Ba't ang sungit mo?" Natatawang tanong ko kay Jho. We are now lining up in our chosen teams. Hinati kasi ang mga participants into five teams at napunta kami sa yellow team.

Ngayon ay binigyan kami ng mga yellow ribbons that we're gonna wear around our wrists or arms.

"Huh?" Masungit na sagot ni Jhoana habang tinatali ang yellow ribbon sa braso niya. "Hindi naman." Hindi niya parin ako tinitignan kahit na hinahabol ko yung mata niya. Iwas kasi siya ng iwas.

"Eh why aren't you looking at me?" I said and pouted at her. She looked up and just dragged me again so that we'll be closer to our team.

"Makulit ka kasi." Matipid niyang sabi. She got another yellow ribbon and tied it around my wrist but I stopped her.

"Ayoko diyan gusto ko here," I pointed at my arms. "I want it here para same tayo."

Jhoana rolled her eyes but I can see that she's trying to stop herself from smiling. Sana umekto ang pag papacute ko.

"Ayan na po." She said after tying the ribbon on my arm. She didn't face me and stared at out team leader explaining the games.

"Okay, we need one from each pair to participate in this game. Nasa easy round palang naman tayo so anyone from the team can join." Sabi ni Ged ang team leader namin ngayon.

Being the pabibo kid that I was, I quickly raised my hand. Napatingin agad si Jhoana sakin at pilit binababa ang braso.

"Tigilan mo yan, Beatriz. Isa!" Pagbabanta ni Jhoana pero hindi ko siya pinansin. "We don't even know anong game yan. Mamaya nalang tayo!"

Nakita naman agad ni Ged ang nakataas kong kamay, sa tangkad ko ba naman. He then pointed at us and asked us to step forward.

"The first event is sack race..." Sabi ni Ged. "So kung sino yung mas maliit sa pair yun muna yung maglalaro."

I looked at Jho and smiled kasi siya muna ang maglalaro samin.  She looked at me glaring. If looks could kill, kanina pa ako patay.

Pumunta na kami sa gilid para magsimula na at sinamahan ko na rin si Jho for support.

"I can't believe I'm doing this, I've never done this before." She mumbled while removing her shoes and putting them at the side.

"There's a first time for everything, bud." I stood behind her and jokingly massaged her shoulders. "You got this, Jhow Jhow! Bilisan mong tumalon ah."

Jhoana slapped my hand away from her shoulders and lazily walked back to our team to "practice" jumping inside of the sack.

I can see Jhoana having a hard time jumping properly and even looked like she's about to slip any minute. Naaliw man ako sakanya ngayon na guilty naman ako ng onti.

Tumabi ako sa mga friends ko na nanonood rin ngayon. I was talking to them when I suddenly heard a loud thud at my team's place.

My eyes automatically searched for Jhoana at nakita ko naman siya na nakadapa sa sahig. Tumawa ang lahat pero nag aalala naman ako. I was about to walk back to the team when someone grabbed my arm.

I turned around and saw Jia and Maddie standing beside me.

"Relax, Bei. She's fine, look!" Natatawang sabi ni Jia.

I glanced back at Jho and saw that she was laughing while, Ged, our team leader helped her up. Pinagpagan pa niya ang legs ni Jhoana habang tawa lang siya ng tawa.
