~ Seafood Puns ~

BEATRIZ

It has been three days since the day that Jho and I got stranded and hung out in their house. I can say that over the weekend, mas naging sobrang close kami bigla.

After I left their house tumawag agad ako kay Jho just to update her about how my mom reacted to our stranded adventure hanggang sa kung ano ano na ang pinag usapan namin.

Sunday came and she was the one who called me that time. She told me stories about her mom and her sister and just like the other night, late na din kami nakatulog dahil sa topics na napag usapan namin.

And now, Monday, I'm outside of Jho's building to fetch her for lunch. Actually wala naman kaming plano but I saw in her schedule that it's also her break kaya nag babakasakali lang ako.

I just really hope she's free.

I leaned on my car as I texted Maki and Cel in our group chat that they'll be able to meet Jho depending on her sched. After that call with Maki last Friday, nonstop na ang mga messages nilang dalawa ni Cel sakin telling me how bad they want to meet Jho properly.

Sobrang kulit nilang dalawa to the point na gusto nilang sumulpot sa Ateneo para lang makita kami ni Jho. Good thing I was able to convince them to chill since Jho and I are just friends palang.

Masyado silang excited wala pa nga akong ginagawa.

I looked up from my phone when I saw students walking out of the building.

My smile grew wider when my eyes landed on Jhoana, she was going down the steps and texting on her phone without even looking to where she was going. I walked over to her, masyado siyang focused sa phone niya hindi manlang niya ako napansin.

When I was getting nearer and nearer towards her, she suddenly stepped on a rock and stumbled. She lost her balance but fortunately I was there kaya nahawakan ko siya sa braso.

"Ay!" She squeaked. "Sorry."

Her grip was tight as she looked up at me. Jho's eyebrows furrowed as her eyes also widened when she realized I was the one who caught her.

I smiled at Jho as I help her stand up.

"Hay, you really shouldn't text while walking you know?"

Natawa naman si Jho at umiling.

"Hindi ko naman kasalanan na may bato doon. Kasalanan niyan paharang harang sa daan." She said childishly and even pointed at the small rock.

"Who are you texting ba kasi? Sobrang importante ba niyan na willing ka madapa para lang ma text siya?"

I rolled my eyes but Jhoana just chuckled and shook her head.

"Tignan mo kaya phone mo." She mumbled and started walking leaving me at the entrance of the building.

Although confused, I pulled out my phone and saw a recent unread message.

From: Jhoana
