Chapter 24

~ Hopes Up ~

BEATRIZ

I woke up because someone kept poking my cheeks. I turned to my side but I suddenly felt pain on my back and shoulders.

Ano ba 'to ba't ang tigas ng higaan ko?

"Bea, gising!" The voice then called out.

I groaned in response. I feel so tired and lazy, and even though my position isn't comfortable, I still wanted to go back to sleep.

"Huy! Gising sabi eh!" The voice called out louder as her soft poking on my cheeks became big and harder slaps.

I finally jolted awake and opened my eyes. I looked around me and I wasn't in my bedroom.

"Finally, akala ko hindi ka na magigising." I stared at the sleepy Jhoana who was also rubbing her eyes. I sat up and realized na nakatulog pala kami kagabi dito sa likod ng pickup.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"6:30." Jho replied while yawning. I swear to God, this girl is so cute effortlessly.

"I can't believe nakatulog tayo dito." I chuckled and Jho laughed too.

"Ako rin, parang nung una nag uusap pa tayo tapos di ko na malayan nakatulog na ako."

I then quickly hugged Jho from behind and tried to lie her down again with me but the latter just laughed and lightly slapped me again.

"Ang kulit mo umagang umaga, Beatriz!"

"Tulog tayo ulit! Ang aga pa oh!" I pouted.

"Hindi pwede, I'm sure hinahanap ka na rin sainyo nila tita Det."

"No they aren't. They don't give a shit about—"

"Bea." Jho warned. "Don't say that, halika na baka mapagalitan pa tayo."

I sighed. Kahit kailan talaga minsan lang ako manalo dito kay Jhoana eh.

She then sat up and crawled her way to the opening of the tailgate. Inunahan ko na siya sa pagbukas at bumaba na rin para alalayan siya since nahirapan siya with her dress.

Pero dahil medyo antok pa kami ni Jho natapilok siya at nasagi yung isang paso sa may driveway.

"Hala sorry, Bei!" She exclaimed while staring at the plant that she bumped.

"It's okay." I laughed. I looked at the plant too when I suddenly saw a shiny thing under it.

My eyes widened in realization. You have got to be kidding me.

Naalala ko na ngayon. Nilagay nga pala 'to ng mga pinsan ko dito para daw if they needed the house secretly, we didn't have to ask for our parents' permission to use it.

"Oh my God." I bent down to get it and groaned in frustration again. All this time nandito lang pala 'to! Nakakairita sobrang naiinis ako sa sarili ko.

Imbes na mas maganda sana yung experience and moment ko with Jho kagabi sa loob ng rest house, we spent the night here in our freaking drive way!
