BEATRIZ 

I couldn't move or speak. I kept glancing at my monitor and then back at Jho. Speak Bea. Speak. 

"Uhm, I-" I tried to laugh and looked at my monitor again. My God, Maki. Ikaw na nga naglagay sa akin sa situation na 'to, iniwan mo pa ako. 

"Bea? So... are you just gonna look at me or are you gonna answer my question?" Jho asked impatiently. 

Just when I was about to finally answer, I heard my door open as manang hurriedly entered. 

"Beatriz, ang daddy mo nasa baba galit na galit hinahanap ka- Saka ano yan? Ano nangyari sayo?" She said while pointing at my lip. 

My eyes went wide as I tried to wipe my bloody lip because I know how concerned manang can be. 

"I'm fine po. Kausapin ko nalang si dad sa baba." I turned to Jho. "Bud, wait lang. Stay there we'll talk after." 

I quickly went downstairs as manang followed. My gosh Lord pwede isa isa lang na problema. 

"Hay nako ano ba naman kasi ang ginawa mo nanaman?" I heard manang mumble. 

I sighed and entered the living room. I immediately saw my dad fuming. He looked at my face and his eyes instantly landed on my bruise. 

"I can't believe it. It is true!" Dad exclaimed as he looked at my mom. "See, Det. This is what happens when you baby your daughter. Nagiging pasaway lalo." He added as he pointed at me. 

"Please, dad. I can explain-" 

"I don't want to hear it, Beatriz. Whatever your pointless reason is, it doesn't change the fact that I lost a potential client for a big project because of you." 

"Because of me? How is that my fault?" I stared at him in disbelief. My dad then looked at my mom again because she looks just as confused as me. 

"Bryan's dad called me and told me everything. First you stole his son's girlfriend,"

"What?" Pasigaw na tanong ko.

"Second, hindi ka pa natigil at sinugod mo pa raw ang anak niya. Gawain ba yan ng isang matinong tao ha Bea? What the hell were you thinking?" 

"That's not what happened okay?! I will never steal someone else's girlfriend and I only defended Bianca because Bryan was abusing her-" 

"I don't care, Beatriz. Wala akong pakealam about this college nonsense!" He stepped closer to me. "We went to Richard's party to make a good impression and to also try to close the deal with the Evangelistas and in one idiotic move, you ruined everything!" He shouted. 

"For once, hindi niyo ba talaga kayang pakinggan ako? Is a stupid business deal far more important than innocent people who need help? More import than actually understanding the situation of your own daughter-" My voice cracked as my dad cut me off. 

"Yes! Because this business that you just called stupid, is the reason why you're living in luxury and comfort. And I am willing to do anything and everything for the success of this family what ever it takes. Remember that." 

"You're unbelievable." I whispered as I tried my hardest not to cry. 

My dad scoffed. "You wouldn't understand because you're not like me-" 

I couldn't help but scream as well. 

"The least thing that I want is to become as selfish as you!"
