Two days later.

Matteo left early for work but I stayed sleeping on bed all day. Fanny came into the room three times to tell me to eat something. But I told her I didn't feel good enough and I wasn't hungry. I just wanted to stay in there, I was too weak.

I haven't gone to Charlotte's house since then. She had called me a few times through the house phone but I didn't answer them. I really missed her and I needed to talk to her but I wasn't ready.

I slowly opened my eyes as I felt caress on my cheek. Matteo was sitting next to me and stared. Suddenly I grabbed his hand on my cheek and felt his warmth. I took a deep breathe as I stared at those grays eyes.

"Hi," I said in a whisper.

"Come with me," he said deeply.

"Where?," I said as he took my hand and he stood up slowly to help me lift me up.

"You already showed me your secret place, its mine turn," he said.

I slowly got up and I followed him behind. We began walking through the house until we stood in front of the stairs. Where was he taking me?

We started going upstairs until we got to the third floor in complete silence. We stopped in front of a gray big door and he slowly opened it. I wanted to see what was in the other side so much that my curiosity kicked in.

'There's always two sides on everything, but most of the people only know one.'

As he opened the door, I was breathless. This place was idealistic.
It was a garden roof! I smiled at the breathtaking view. The sun kissed my face with his golden color and the sky looked absolutely beautiful. I was fascinated when I saw it.

The whole garden roof was big and with so much space. Now I had a new favorite place where it brought me calmness. Matteo was showing to me every detail of his life and I appreciated that. The sky was colorful and the sun gave life to everything.

Matteo slowly grabbed me from behind and touched my waist with both hands as he started moving me forward. I kept looking horizontally to the amazing view and we stopped near the edge.

"Close your eyes Ava," he said softly and I did so. My vision turned black and I began missing the sunset color.

"Tell me what you feel, describe it for me," he said still holding my waist tightly.

"I feel the fresh breeze on my skin....I feel the warmth of the sun.... on my whole body." I paused as I felt it.

"What else," he said

"I can hear...the birds, but not their singing. Its the sound of their wings as they fly..... I hear as the leaves of the trees move by the wind."

"Good. All of those things like the birds are free, we can't have them with us captured. We need to let them go. Do you understand?," he said as he waited  for my answer.

I understand. They all need to be free, Isn't it better if we let go of the things we still hold on?

"Ava, let Sophie go," he said.

Sophie. This is what's all about, he wanted me to let her go. I've just suffered enough, but I still hold on tight with her memory which caused me so much pain. I didn't want to feel pain anymore. I kept repeating the same words. I need to.

Ava, its time to let the pain fade. Let the pain go.

I began crying as tears fell. I opened my eyes and faced him.
