Now this is what I call a rodeo

Jasper steps back and looks at the tunnel opening with a more careful eye. The edge of the cavern's entrance is lined with small pointed fangs, so sharp and tiny they look like pearlescent needles. Above the top of the entrance are a pair of beady, pupiless red eyes. They blink.

"Ohhhh." Jasper clicks her finger with the hand that isn't holding anything, "this is the tongue, and... the whole thing... is the... worm." She stares for a moment, "fuck."

Jasper and Steven scream and run away, back to New Homeworld.

"So," Steven puffs, "what's the plan, Jasper?" He risks a look behind them, and the eldritch gem is quicking gaining on them.

"Run faster!"

"I could've thought of that," Steven mutters, annoyed. Then his eyes light up, "hold on, I was right, wasn't I?"

"Later!" Jasper yells.

"Ah, she's too big for you, isn't she?"

"Not now Steven!" They approach the edge of a canyon created by the massive gem worm.

"I want to hear you say it," he says as they skid to a halt at the edge of the canyon.

"Can we talk about this another time?" She looks down into the canyon. It seems to go down forever.

"Say it!"

"Steven!" Jasper hisses.

"Say it!"

"No!"

"Say it!"

"Not now!"

"Say it!"

Jasper watches as the Alaskan Bull Gem quickly slither towards them, turning up layers of soil as it swivels through the countryside.

"Okay! You were right, and I was wrong. I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! Are you happy now?" Jasper raps desperately.

Steven smirks smugly, "I knew it."

The gem growls and the ground trembles; the ground underneath them crumbles and they fall into the canyon. Before they hit the ground, Steven catches them in a pink bubble.

He floats them to the other side of the canyon, then his bubble pops and he falls on his knees, exhausted. "Uh, Jasper?" Steven asks, fear riddling his voice. "What do we do now?"

Jasper pants and grabs fist-fulls of her white hair. She gasps in revelation,  "I've got it! Steven, you still got that paper clip and that string?"

'Yeah, here!" He hands it to her.

"Wait... this is way too small." Jasper drops it and instead pulls a glittery rope from her gem. She's ties it into a lasso and swings it over her head. Steven wonders in awe. Do all gems have a cowboy faze?

"Yee-haw!" She snarls aggressively, swinging the rope over the massive worm-gems head and grabbing Steven by the waist. They are pulled off the ground, and Jasper lands them atop the huge gem's back.

"Now this is what I call a rodeo! We'll be safe up here." Jasper says.
