Tears of fear and anger prick the edges of Peridot's eyes. "No, I'm not ready!" She yells, "I'll never be ready, don't you get it?"

Steven shrugs, "sure we do."

Peridot sniffs and wipes her eyes, "what?" She stammers confused, then shuts her door and walks into the street. Only to realise she's not in her house.

She runs back to her door and knocks. Steven answers it. "Ready?" He asks.

Peridot face-palms, and then pushes Steven and Connie out of her apartment. "Out!"

"Aren't you meant to be at school today, Connie?" Peridot asks snarkily.

"I'd love to be at school!" Connie lies, "but it's Sunday. School's closed."

She was about to ask, shouldn't you be at church? But Peridot remembers everyone she knows are godless heathens.

Peridot has an idea, "hold on, I'll be right out." She promises them, then sneaks out of her house through the ventilation system, and sprints all the way to Connie's school. No masochist would dare think to go to school on a Sunday, so Peridot could finally find peace.

With Peridot's incredible speed and stamina, it only takes about ten minutes. However, when she arrives, she's not sure if it's Connie's high school, or just the first one Peridot came across. It could be both we may never know.

Peridot hops the fence and runs to the reception, kicking down the door on her way in. The only problem is, the door was glass and it ended up shattering everywhere and setting off the school security system.

"Hello?" Peridot yells. The only answer she got was the wailing sirens. Peridot sighs, "alone at last."

She pulls a spare cassette from her gem, and skips to the right track. She prepares to practice her singing until she hears two terribly familiar voices over the alarm system.

"Peridot? Peridot!" Steven and Connie yell.
