"I'll be out of here in no time."

Peridot sits alone in the dark. "Someone will come and find me eventually."

She waits in the closet staring expectingly at the door as thousands of years go by.

The closet turned out to be incredibly sturdy, but nothing escapes the erosion of time. After all these millennia, the metal hinges have grown rusty and they fall off. Scholars often wonder why Peridot didn't use her ferrokinetic powers to bust open the door herself. To this day we still do not know.

The terrible door finally falls and behind it crouches Peridot. A steven-bot who happened to be patrolling the ancient halls sees her sitting there, frozen; having forgotten how to move after all these years.

"Holy shit; a frozen quadropod!" The steven-bot pulls out a chrome hammer from his gem and from the hammer comes a laser which he shoots at Peridot, poofing her.

"I'll be out of here in no time," Peridot says, trance-like.

The steven-bot watches the reformed gem in wonderment, although, you can't tell by his facial expressions, as the steven-bots cannot manipulate their faces.

The android had brought Peridot back to the steven-bot facilityTM

"Greetings, primitive!"

"Steven... is that you?"

"Steven?" The android makes a jarring repetitive noise that is supposed to resemble laughter. "No." He says, deadpan.

Peridot frowns in confusion. The steven-bot clears his throat to say his formal introduction, "Hello, I am the steven-bot sent from cyberlife. I am here to assist you in your integration in the future."

"...What?"

"Hello, I am the steven-bot sent from cyberlife. I am here to assist you in your integration in the future."

"Uhh..." Peridot fumbles, "the future?" She looks around, noticing everything is made out of chrome. She jumps to her feet. "Huh?! What's going on here? Why is everything made of chrome!?"

"Everything is made of chrome in the future." The steven-bot says simply.

"Wha...?" Peridot stammers and runs to look outside. "Oh no." The entire environment is made of shiny metal; the grass; the trees; the ocean. Peridot can't see the sky since it was clouded in a dull grey fog, but she wouldn't be surprised if the whole planet is encased in chrome like a massive kinder surprise.

Impossible! He's lying! Peridot thinks desperately to herself, this must be an illusion... or a dream... this can't be real!

Peridot spots an organic flower and a flicker of hope sparks in her chest. A metallic truck stops next to it and a steven-bot emerges with a spray can, and sprays it with chrome paint, then runs back to the truck and skids away. Peridot's chest implodes.

Peridot laughs to herself softly, "he's right."

"Of course I'm right, Peridot" the steven-bot says, walking up behind her, "just ask my clones; steven-bot X, Y, and Z."

Peridot flinches as a trio of steven-bots suddenly appears next to them.

"Are the other letters of the alphabet involved here?"

"Yep! All 486 of them!"

Peridot does a few sit-ups while she screams to herself, trying to wake up, "Future...! Future...! Future...!"
