Chapter 3

Kang Ryu:

I blankly stare at the city lights still thinking about earlier. If it is a prank, they are too obvious and their acting is so bad but, it is not my birthday or someone's birthday. It can't be a prank or am I too sensitive? It's like they are sending signals with those words so that I wouldn't know. Perhaps they must have a clue to the poem but why would they hide it from me? Just because I am a girl, it doesn't mean I am not capable of doing anything. Where is the equality to that?

As soon as the cold night air slaps my face, a shiver went down to my spine. Indeed, winter season is almost coming or should I say, the bloody winter season.

There are things I don't understand here especially everything changed once I came back. Like how our blood became dark blue instead of red due to the radiation we absurb. How Taehyung became the president of this building. How Professor Min YoonGi wanted to be called as Professor and not Chief anymore. How the clear, white, winter changed into a red one since weak vampires can't handle their thirst in winter. To solve the problem, once a vampire killed a human, he will be killed too. After all, a blood for a blood. A life for a life.

I tug my own hair to my ear and notices a pair of arms wrapping around my waist gently. I turn my head and see Taehyung's cheeky smile. I sigh and turn my head back to the city lights. Afterall, it is my favorite view.

"Vasílissa mou what are you thinking?" He asks and puts his chin in my shoulder. I didn't say a word and he did not even continue the conversation. I sigh and look at him.

"Are you two hiding something from me?" I said seriously as I look deep in his eyes trying to read his mind. It is seriously unfair for me that he can easily read mind.

"Vasílissa mou what are you talking about?" He meets my eyes and I feel like I was put in a dungeon, trap inside and not letting me escape to know the truth. He never look at me like that ever since he fell for me.

I felt hurt but I hide it from him. I thought when I enter this relationship, he would not hide something from me. Seriously, boys are hard-headed ones. Hopefully, this big boy over here will turn into a man. But if he is hiding this to me, there are possibilities that his reason is either to protect me or he doesn't trust me.

"Nothing." I whisper and go back to having a staring contest with the city lights. I sigh when I notice Taehyung is bothered by my actions.

"Well, I'm more bothered than you for not telling me the truth, you stupid vampire." I hiss secretly making sure he didn't notice. Seriously, I really want to punch him right now.

"It's better for you not to know the truth you know. Plus, no matter how you beg, we will never tell you." He says seriously and I look at him with anger.

"Can't you just stop with that mind reading of yours? It's not gonna help with our fight right now." I roll my eyes and put force to my elbow until it hit in his stomach. He didn't bulge but he did groan and tighten the grip in my waist.

"I know but I can't help it vasílissa mou. You are stubborn and this mission is dangerous for someone like you. I can't afford to lose you." He said with a hoarse and deep voice as he kisses my neck. I shiver in response but still, I am quite annoyed how he told me I am stubborn.

"Fine, let's just say I am stubborn but I have more dangerous missions like when I go to your era and met you. I'm still alive right?" I look at him trying to convince him. "Please, can't you just tell me what the hell is going on?" I continue.

"That's because people have wrong impressions of me before saying I am a blood thirsty vampire which is cool." He said with approval.

"That's quite true though I mean remember in the throne room? You almost drained their blood." I look at him with disgust while he looks at me innocently.

"Hey, I was immature back then but remember how I became King Phoenix II? I really was cook back then. I should do more dangerous stuffs and might as well conquer the world." He jokes and I just laugh.

"Yeah right, you were pretty cool back then. It still gives me shivers knowing you are the King of both Kingdoms and now, you are also the number one billionaire in my world." I look at him with dead eyes.

"Finally you laughed." He whispers once again and kisses my neck. I was a bit taken back by his actions. I was not ready for it.

"Fine, I'll forgive you but promise me that you will came back alive when doing this mission. Okay?" I said finally giving up. I really can't stay mad for a long time with this guy. He really knows how to control my temper.

"I have demonic powers no one can beat that." He shows off while I look at him weirdly. "Seriously, can't you just support your boyfriend who wants to be cool?" He jokes once again as I laugh.

I was about to say something but my phone rings. I look at the caller's ID and saw Chief Min YoonGi. Even though he told me to call him Professor, I still save his number with a Chief in it.

"Yes Professor?" I said professionaly as soon as I pick up the call. I look at Taehyung and he signals me to put it in a loud speaker so he can also hear. So I did.

"Ya, where's Taehyung?" Professor Min YoonGi asks as he make some commotions all over his labs. "If you're with Taehyung tell him to get here right now! It's an emergency!" He yells and ends the call.

Both I and Taehyung quickly runs towards the labs and found something we didn't expect.
