Chapter Two: 'Divine Beauty'

When I was a boy, I've always wanted to kill dragons to make my dad be proud of me. He wasn't really fond of me much since I was a 'little runt' of his and I kept embarrassing him in front of a village.

Who would blame? I was clumsy and annoying. He even used me just to get people to go with him for some trips. "Those who stay will look after Hiccup," I heard him say one time on a meeting.

Even though I had a very supporting mother, my dad was nothing. I told my mum about what I heard and she just comforted me. Questions on my mind were popping of why he was so embarrassed of me. Was I not good enough? Was I adopted? Did my dad just have me so he can get out of those annoying people who asks you, "When are you going to have a child?" and he can live away from them peacefully unlike me? Or did he just simply hate me?

My mother told me that it wasn't my fault. She told me that I came in early into this world, so frail, so fragile. Well, that's what she said. She said my dad was really scared that I wouldn't make it. That I would die on my first month. If he was that protective of me, why was he like that all the years?

Then, Toothless came. I 'accidentally' shot him down about nine years ago. And throughout the times where Toothless and I met, everything changed. The village was nice to me. Girls started noticing me more. Boys has been my friends. And mostly, I wasn't an embarrass to my dad. But the question was still unanswered to my minds. Why was I an embarrass for him?

I was flying, the wind on my face and was too bothered to put on my helmet. I still thought about the marriage contract and how it will be my last chance before I actually do get married to that stranger. I hated it. Why can't I find love? Why can't I find her?

"AAARRGGHH!" I screamed out, fisting the air with my hands. I slumped back down, laying on Toothless' saddle. Toothless warbled with concern while we flew the level of the clouds. "I'm...okay bud. I'm fine." I patted his saddle. "Don't worry bud. I'm not going to let anything happen to you."

I stayed laying at the saddle, still thinking about the contract. I had to get out of it no matter what. Marrying someone you don't trust, know or even know if she is a girl was hard. I hated it and it's not on my standards. It was all totally unfair. My dad was lucky though and he really was. He got out of those marriage contracts since he was 15 because of mom. They fell in 'love' that time in a young age and they continued.

He was lucky. Very.

Me? I have no one but Toothless. My parents know I need someone. Even I know. And when the mantle is passed down to me, I need an heir. And that means...okay not going to talk about it now.

I was still laying whilst Toothless was hovering just above the clouds. One of my hand was on my chest while the other on Toothless' side. My eyes were closed as I needed to do something about this. There had to be. I can't live my life being tied down by, what you may know, a crazy woman. She might even be psycho!

Just then, something bursted out of the clouds with a large dragon. Even bigger than Toothless. The vigilante that rode it was standing with its mask and armour on. It had a stick and it was staring creepily at me. I sat up quickly to look at this mysterious rider. No wait.

"Mum!" I exclaimed. "You scared me. Odin's sake." Mum laughed and took off her mask. She then showed her face.

"Got you, didn't I son?" she teased. I just gave a sarcastic face.

"Ha, ha," I laughed, sarcastically. "Hilarious!" I just had my arms folded, head shaking as Toothless laughed with them. Oh great, he's on their side? Thanks for the warm, fuzzy feeling bud.
