Chapter Three: Close Yet So Far
"So, I heard that you've got someone on tact now," Snotlout informed as he walked besides me to the Great Hall.
I looked at him with a surprising face, an eyebrow raised. How...did he...?
"How did I know?" he suddenly asked like he just read my mind. I just nodded. "Because I could see it in your face."
I was confused by this. "Uh, for the record, you can never tell someone what they're going to do from their face," I informed in a tone that states I'm-smart.
"Oh, so you're all about remembering things?" he exclaimed, quoting his fingers.
I widened my eyes. "I don't even know how to answer that," I stated, my arms crosing. Seriously, I don't.
We then walked up the cemented steps to find other people going in the Hall. I can still see girls twirling their hair and trying to get their attention to me. I just ignored them. Even though they would be fun to play with, I only have one thing in mind.
"Lucky guy," I heard Snotlout mutter. I stifled a laugh at this but a chuckle came out. Soon, we entered the Hall.
I looked out to find the girl who I have my eyes on. A blonde girl who has blue eyes. Red simple shirt, armour shoulder pads and spiky skirt. Yet...she wasn't there. Weird. Don't she know that Vikings on Berk go to the Hall to have dinner? She has to be here somewhere.
"HEY HICCUP!" someone yelled. "ARE YOU BLIND OR SOMETHING?" I looked back to see Tuffnut waving his hands, frantically. I just chuckled and went to our table. "Oh, hey there Hiccup," Tuffnut greeted.
This guy...is...well, I don't have words for it. And why the heck did he shout me for?
"Aren't you going to eat?" Fishlegs asked, pointing to me. I saw everyone have food, even Snotlout. Wow, that was fast of him. No wonder I can see him jiggle a little when he runs. No offence.
"Uh, maybe later. I've got someone to find," I stated, still looking around the crowded Hall. Seriously. it was really crowded.
"A girl?" Ruffnut suddenly asked. The boys' eyes flickered (well except Snotlout's) to me. Even Ruffnut's.
"You could say that," I said, rubbing the back of my neck. I smirked a little.
"What girl?" someone asked. "Is someone hurting my baby?"
I stiffened at the voice and so did the guys. I knew who it was and I didn't want to see her now. I looked at my right (and I'l probably going to regret it) and...my guess was right! It was the annoying and bratty Mista. She stood besides me, looping both of her arms on one of my arms.
If you haven't known, Mista and I dated before. Yet, she was different from the others since she break nealy every boys' hearts. Even Snotlout's. She was a player like me and I gotta give her credit for that. Surprisingly, she lasted longer than any other girl did. Usually, I would break them off at the first month but she lasted two months. Two months! Luckily, I broke her off just after a week of our second month. I just didn't want to be one of her breakees and that would mean I would lose my reputation.
"Who's this...girl?" she asked again. I looked at the guys and gave a look that said 'Don't-you-dare-tell-or-I-will-kill-you-and-I'm-not-kidding.'
"Some girl that Hiccup wants to play," Tuffnut simply answered like he never saw my look. Did he really not see?
"And the name?" she suspicioulsy asked.
"Astrid Hofferson," Ruffnut replied. Okay, I want to kill the Thorston twins now. Did they really not see my death stare?! Are they blind?
