The Party

When the night of the party came, I was slightly scared. There was going to be a lot of people there, and I was still pretty much an introvert. I did my makeup, then worked on my hair. Cole helped me straighten it, and by the time he was done, I had to admit it looked actually really nice. He went upstairs to get changed, and I did the same. When I was finished, I looked in the mirror. I really looked...pretty. I smiled at my reflection, then walked outside to see the other guys.

"Wow, Gab..." Dalton breathed. He seemed to be at a loss for words, so he just smiled.

"You look so..." Dana began. "Wow, I guess."

"Gabby, you have never looked so..." David started.

"Gabby, I've known you for fifteen years. You never get all dressed up, and I'd like to be the first to say that you should," Will told me.

"She looks beautiful, as always," Cole said, causing my face to burn furiously. Just then, Gabe walked down the stairs.

"Alright guys are you ready to- whoa, Gabby," he said, making me smile. "Um, you guys wanna go?"

"Let us go," Dalton said, taking my arm and walking me to the car. When we arrived, there was a ton of people and photographers. The paparazzi were asking so many questions and it was just too hectic for my liking. We finally made it inside to hear the sound of music blasting. "Come on, Gabby let's go dance!" Dalton begged, dragging me to the dance floor.

"Um, I'd rather not. Sorry, I'm not really into all that stuff," I apologized.

"Okay, let's, uh, go get some food," he suggested. "I saw that the have some of those fried macaroni and cheese balls, so..." he said, excitedly, dragging me over to a table.

Dalton and I spent the whole night laughing and eating. Towards the end of the night, a slow song came on, and Dalton begged me to dance with him.

"Alright, fine. Let's go," I said as he took my hand in his. I leaned my head against his chest and wrapped my arms around his neck. "I like this."

     "Me too," he whispered.

Cole's POV*

I saw Gabby dancing with Dalton,  and I couldn't help but notice how happy she looked with him. I couldn't tell her my feelings because, well, for starters, Dalton would be mad. And secondly, if she doesn't feel the same way, which she probably doesn't, I'd end up ruining our friendship. But I wanted to tell her! I really did. It killed me seeing her with Dalton. Let's just say, I was pretty glad when we got to go home.

When we are back, it was late. We all gradually went to our rooms, but I didn't sleep at all. Gabby was the only thing on my mind. Why did she like Dalton? I mean, sure, he had great hair and eyes and he was pretty sweet, but he wasn't caring or forgiving or selfless. Dalton was a bit of a player. He was going to end up hurting Gabby the next time he saw a new girl he liked more. I didn't want that to happen to her, but there was nothing I could do since she obviously seemed to be really in love with him. But why? I thought. To distract myself, I went on my phone, only to find a text from Gabby.

     U asleep yet?

     No. I replied.

I waited anxiously for her response.

Only after a minute did I receive a text saying, Same. That was a fun party.

Yeah, I'm glad u came with us.

This whole summers been amazing. I've made the greatest friends ever, gone 2 a red carpet party thing, and got a boyfriend. U guys r so great.

Thanks. I've had a great summer, too. Ur really awesome, 2, Gabby.

Thanks. Gtg, I'm really tired. Byee

The rest of the night, I still only thought about Gabby. She was so sweet and caring and beautiful. I wished so much that she would be my girlfriend instead of Dalton's. But I had no control over who Gabby fell for- I just wished that it was me.
