I Just Listen to My Heartless

I stumbled on my way to find Gabe. My vision blurred from the tears I was trying to hold back. I was heartbroken. How could he? I thought.

"Can we leave...now?" I pleaded when I found my friends.

"Um, okay. We'll go find the others," Gabe suggested.

"No. Now. Please. Just us. You can come back for them. Please I just want to be home," I said, starting to cry.

"Yeah, come on. Let's go. What happened?" Cole said, sounding concerned.

"I think I know," Gabe interjected. "Was it a certain blonde rocker?" I nodded as we climbed into the car.

"He broke up with you?" Cole asked, aghast.

     "N-no, h-he kissed another girl," I sobbed.

"Hey, hey. It's going to be okay. You have us. Don't worry. It'll be fine. It's okay," Gabe said as we pulled up to the house. "Cole? How about I go get the others and you stay back with Gabby?"

"Okay. Come on, Gabby," Cole said, leading me inside. "I'll let you be alone right now. Or d-do you want someone with you?" I shook my head, then ran upstairs to my room. I threw myself down on the bed and bawled. I cried for hours probably. I was beyond sad. I was broken.

Cole's POV*

I couldn't believe that Dalton would be such an asshole to Gabby like that. When they all got back, Dalton just packed up his stuff and left. Like, legit, he actually just drove home. No explanation, nothing. He just left. The others went out for dinner or something, so I stayed home with Gabby. She hadn't stopped crying since we had gotten back. I decided to go down and talk to her. When I neared her room, I heard Amnesia by 5 Seconds of Summer on repeat. I gently rapped my knuckles on her door before walking in.

"Why does this keep playing?" I asked, with the slightest hint of a smile.

"It's the only song that fits my mood," Gabby said, dismally.

"It's going to be okay," I said, pulling her into a hug.

"But it hurts, Cole," she replied, fresh tears forming on her face.

"I know," I started. "Let's do something to get your mind off of...him."

     "Like what?" she sniffled.

"Um, well, for starters, let's turn this song off, because it's not going to help you forget anything. Secondly, uh, how about we go upstairs and watch some Disney movies. You know, like, we could sing along and stuff?" I suggested. Gabby nodded, and we walked upstairs to my room. We spent the rest of the night and most of the next day singing along to every Disney movie you could imagine- Snow White, Little Mermaid, Lion King, Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules...you get the picture.

"Hey guys! What are you doing?" Gabe asked somewhere around 2 in the morning.

"Disney marathon," Gabby explained, not looking up from the TV.

"May I be allowed to join you?" He asked, smirking.

"I suppose so," she said, smirking back at him. "We don't usually allow riff raff in, but I guess we could make an exception."

Overall, it was pretty fun. We reenacted the songs and some scenes, which was...interesting. I liked seeing Gabby smile because it made her look ever more beautiful. I wished that Dalton hadn't even come this summer. I mean, sure, it was nice in the beginning, you know, catching up, talking, seeing more #Colton posts, but after a week or two.... Well, let's just end by saying that I wasn't upset that he was gone again.
