"Rachel? Rachel?" ...

"What?" Rachel screamed back. "I had guessed you'd feel alone in your class but I didn't know so soon that you'd come running to mine while yelling out my name!"

And to that I responded, "Well, that's not our concern. Listen closely to what I'm telling you. I met someone in my class-"

Rachel interjected, "Yes! Even I did in my Biology class. Her name is Rachel too but with an extra 'a' in it. Her name is spelled as Rach-a-el. Weird but okay-"

"Stop. Let me complete!"

"Sorry."

"First, answer this question. If I ended up crushing on an ex of yours, would you mind it?"

"What's this about? Who did you meet?"

"I met Caleb."

"Wait, what? Caleb Montgomery?!

"Yes, you don't have another ex called Caleb." I sneered.

"Shit, shit, shit. I don't Iike seeing him. Hide me! Hide me!"

"Shut up Rach. This ain't about you!"

"Oh, yes. Sorry. So you like him." Rachel sighed before she exclaimed, "Wait, you like him?!"

"Maybe, or it's just way too soon for me to judge but I know I will." I giggled. "See, he sat beside me in class and I could not concentrate all lecture."

"Woah, look who's ready to break the sis-code now." She snickered.

"Rachel, but you don't like him! Even Anne didn't like Brandon when I dated him. I still liked Damien when you started dating him. There's a difference and we've already had this conversation plenty of times. How many more-"

"Skye! I was kidding! I do not mind you liking Caleb, I'd rather be happy for you."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

I was in the washroom, standing in front of a basin, staring at the mirror when, a girl walked in. She saw me, pensive, and spoke, "Hey, are you okay?"

I was indeed not, since I was nervous about liking someone again. Why? Probably because every time I had a crush on somebody, things really found a way to spoil it for me.

I then said to her, "I should be, but I'm not. You ever feel sad but don't know why?"

She took a few steps and came closer to me.

"That's what I'm feeling right now." I continued. "Is it because I don't have enough friends here at school or is it because I feel my heart will be let down again by someone I like or is it because-"

"It's okay. It's all okay. You're fine." she interfered with a tingling smile on her face.

"No, I'm Skye." I chuckled.

She looked at me for a few seconds. "Ew, that's bad sense of humor. Be thankful at least I got it." She laughed and so did I.

"I'm Skye by the way, Skylar Fisk."

"I like that name. I'm Valencia Earnshaw. I usually go by Val."

"Thanks Val, for looking out for me. Not everyone is so nice in high school."

"You're welcome, Skye. I'm not the rude-type." She smiled. "Are you a freshman?"

"No!" I laughed. "Do I look like a kid? I'm a junior but I just got back in. I had changed schools."

"Oh, heck. Sorry, I can't really co-relate faces and age. Though, now that I think of it, yeah, you do seem like a junior."

We both giggled.

"Okay, sorry, I gotta rush" I said.

"Sure. No problem." Valencia grinned.

By the end of the day, I walked back home with Anne and told her about my meeting with Caleb and how I felt for him. She was happy I found someone again but a little astonished too, in a funny way, since he's one of our exs, again.
