Valencia's POV
The lecture ended and I was walking out with Skylar from the classroom.
"So, will you make me meet up with your two best friends?" I laughed.
"Why so formal? Sure, I will." replied Skye with a grin. "You can join us for lunch. Both of them would be there and their boyfriends. And us. Without any boyfriends." Skye sighed and I frowned. Why a boyfriend? Why can't she not have a girlfriend? She shouldn't even expect me to have a boyfriend because nah, I only do girls; only Skylar actually.
"So you desperately want Caleb to be your boyfriend?" I asked, trying to understand her, as we walked onto the staircase.
"Not too desperate, but yes-" Just then Caleb himself turned up as we reached the hallway. Oh, god damn him.
"Skye, you didn't tell me. What did your 'okay' mean?!" He said, surely not looking amused.
"You're talking to me in the halls. You never do that, I should appreciate you for your benevolence." Skylar commented angrily.
"Why do always wanna act so stingy? Just answer my damn question!"
What. How could Caleb even think of screeching at a sweet soul like Skylar? (Cheesy much? Yep, I love her and Skye deserves better than Caleb. I know that for sure.)
"No but really, you usually ignore me around here. What happened today, tomato?"
"Tomato?" I interjected as I still stood beside Skye. "What?" continued Caleb.
"Yeah, uselessly, angrily red. Caleb. Tomato. They're synonymous." Skye said as Caleb hooted with laughter.
"I told you the first time itself, you may have bad humor", I whispered as I tittered.
"Whatever. I'll be there Caleb. Text me the details." said Skye as she then held my hand, pulled me and walked us away from there. I felt chills through my spine as her I felt her touch on my skin.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Umm, s-sorry. I just didn't want Caleb around, so I...I pulled you."
"What? I was asking about your weird and rude attitude. Don't you like him?" I said, inquisitively.
"Ohhh! That!" she sighed. "Well, he's taking me out for Mason's party and talking like that wasn't anything. I like to pull his leg. Come on, I have to play around and act like I don't really care. As in, hard to get."
They're going out, together? I wanna weep and cry. Why does this always happen to me? How can I tell Skylar how much I feel for her when she's crazy for a guy!?
"Who said you need to act like that? You gotta let people know how you feel, if not by words then by actions." I said, boldly. (Yes, I don't follow that myself, but what's wrong in acting kind-of knowledgeable in front of your crush?)
"Well, do you do that?" said Skye as she stopped walking. I had a knot in my stomach, hoping she hadn't found out that I like her.
"W-What?"
"Yeah, like do you like somebody and you're telling me by experience?" she said, normally, not acting suspicious.
"Eh, no. I don't like anybody."
"You don't? How do you even do that? My feelings are a mess."
"Mine too, trust me." I sniggered.
"But you said you don't-" And her phone rang.
"Yeah, I'm almost there. I'm bringing Valencia with me too...... Yes, we'll have lunch together....... Okay, everyone's there? Cool......"
"That was Anne." Skye informed me, as we entered the lunch hall. We saw her group sitting near the window. As Damien struck a conversation I didn't regret sitting and having lunch with them.
