With white noise in my ears, I heard like someone was whooshing and growling in my room. I wasn't awake yet, and felt uncomfortable to wake up. Suddenly, I felt patting on my back and an indistinct voice. The dizzy effects of alcohol were quite gone but only the nastier ones had remained; the taste in my mouth and a splitting head ache. I sat up in my bed with a rather unpleasant feeling.
"Have you woken up? Are you okay?" asked Rachel as I realized she was the one who had been patting me awake.
I was so thirsty that I couldn't speak. My eyes were too tight, my teeth were sore and my back was aching in a way that started around my knees and went up to my forehead.
"Will you speak?" Rachel questioned again.
"It hurts to try and think." I admitted in a groggy voice.
"What do you mean?"
"I got drunk last night."
"What?" She exclaimed as she handed me some water.
"Why are you asking so many questions!" I yapped.
"Because I'm confused!"
"So am I!"
"Okay, calm down, you're hungover."
"Yeah." I said, slowly being able to open my eyes entirely. " I think I made out with somebody last night, you know, after coming back from clubbing." I continued before sipping on water.
"Woah, who was that lucky person?" Rachel asked brightly.
"I think it was Caleb but no, it can't be. He's with Charlotte, I think. I, uh- don't really remember who it was." I sighed as I tried my best to recollect but my head only pounded when I tried to.
"That spoils everything. Caleb...and Charlotte?"
"Yeah, fuck it actually."
"The worst part though, you don't know who you kissed." She laughed. "By the way, I came here originally to surprise you, to say that I'm sorry for behaving rudely with you yesterday and you also left without talking to us so I was very concerned."
"Oh, no worries. Valencia picked me up and- No! Valencia picked me up?!"
"What, you're really confusing me more and more!"
"I clearly remember making out with some one on my own bed. Valencia picked me up so she also must've dropped me off."
"Are you trying to say that Valencia...you guys made out?" Rachel narrowed her eyes with a bemused look.
"I don't know." I whimpered. "You know what? Please run downstairs for me, ask my mom who dropped me off last night. Because if it was Val...then-"
"Yes, wait, I'll be right back."
As soon as Rachel left the room, I began contemplating, "So, Valencia. I kissed her? Shit, did I kiss a girl and like it? What's happening with me? Did I really...I am so confused. Screw these consequential complexities of being drunk!"
"Yeah, Valencia had come over last night and met your mom before leaving." Rachel sighed after she barged back into the my room.
"When did she leave?"
"Midnight."
"Shit, we might've kissed then."
"This is something entirely new for me about you Skylar." Rachel complained as she sat beside me and laughed it off soon after.
"Yeah, for me too!" I exclaimed with a frown. "But, how the hell are you being so complacent about this, Rachel!?"
"About what?"
"Me kissing a girl! I mean-"
"Well, it's not like you were sober while you did it!"
"So I was out of my senses."
"Yes, girls kiss girls when their drunk, it's pretty normal I think."
"What if I think I liked it?"
"Bicurious?"
I sighed.
"Just because you liked the feeling doesn't mean you like the person too, Skye." Rachel chuckled.
"I feel so embarrassed." I sighed again as I covered my face.
"Why? Skylar, it's completely normal! Shit like this happens all the time. Remember, freshman year, we kissed too, during Spin the Bottle. Chill out!"
"Yeah but this is different!"
"Well then, you should talk about what happened, with Valencia."
"Yes." I replied as I grabbed my phone hastily to see if I had received texts from Val. She hadn't and some how, that put me off.
"You like her, don't you?"
"Not really, I don't know, I-uh girls?" I grinned shyly.
"If you do girls, you do it babe! There's no wrong in being open to choices!"
"Thanks Rach, you've always supported me. But I don't wanna pursue this just to know that I am not into girls. What if hurts Valencia? What if she likes me?"
"We'll figure this out." She smiled.
"Wait..did you just say I must be open to choices?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Shit! Valencia once asked me to be 'open to choices' to find the one."
"Ooh, that means she was actually implying that she likes you!" Rachel laughed.
"Yeah, but I am unable to figure out how I feel." I squeaked as Rachel and I reached it for a tight hug.
"I'll leave now, and you take care of yourself", she said.
"Sure."
I didn't text Valencia, neither did I plan to talk to her at all. I needed some time and figure out what is going on with myself first.
