I woke up the next morning with Rachel beside me, sleeping messily. I laughed and gave her a tight hug to wake her up too. It was the weekend so, we had the day to ourselves.
"Do you have any plans for today?" asked Rachel after we freshened up and were on the dining table, having breakfast with my mom and dad.
"All my plans are always with you and Anne. We haven't planned anything so, no, I don't."
I thought you did, now that you have a few new friends and... Caleb." She sniggered.
My Dad started laughing and said, "Haven't you planned anything with him, after your..you know, steamy..."
"Ew, dad! Stop" I blushed. "No, I haven't spoken to him after that. Couldn't gather the guts to text him."
"Honey, let me remind you of what I had told you. Put that anxiety in the trash!" said my mom. "By the way, Rachel just said you have new friends, do you?"
"Uh- yeah. I do. Just one, new one."
"Valencia!" interfered Rachel.
"And who's that?" asked my mom.
"Valencia Earnshaw. She's in my English class and we're good friends, I guess."
"Glad you made new friends in that class, Skylar!" commented my dad as I smiled.

I got dressed up after having breakfast. Rachel just wore my clothes just like how she'd worn for the night. The plan was that I'd walk Rachel home then stop by at Caleb's.
"So, what are you gonna say to him?" asked Rachel as we strolled on the sidewalk.
"Stop making me anxious! You're stressing me out even more!"
"Well, I'm just preparing you so you don't screw up!"
"Fine! I'll ask him about yesterday and how he felt about it? Then, I'll tell him what I feel for him and finally, ask him to be my boyfriend. How's that?"
"Crisp. Solid. No need to worry, Skye. You'll be fine." she said as she put her arm around my shoulders.
Soon, we reached her place and I left for Caleb's. As soon as I reached, I stood in front of the door, contemplating whether or not I should do this. Suddenly I heard someone calling for me, I looked up and it was Caleb at the window. Shirtless. I think I had goosebumps.
"Hey Skye!" He called. "I'm coming down."
"With clothes on or without?" I smirked. He didn't respond to that, which was embarrassing for me.
He opened the door and stepped out, surprisingly, not letting me in.
"Come, we can walk around." he said. "So, what's up?"
He didn't kiss me, neither did he hold my hand nor even touch me. He seemed distant, even when he walked right beside me.
"Are we...cool?" I asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"I needed to tell you something but you're acting like nothing has happened between us."
"Yes, about that.." He simpered.
"Wait, let me say something first." I said as we stopped walking and I stood against a tree.
"Sure."
"Caleb, I-I really like you and I'm very grateful since you've been my first kiss. I know that sounds stupid but really, you mean so much to me. Each kiss with you just makes me want another one, Caleb. I fight with you, I comment on you, I may have been rude and irritating but it's all because I want you. Yesterday was so good, I loved each part of it so much that I couldn't stop thinking about you all night."
There was an awkward silence between the two of us. I wanted him to kiss me, say something, look at me at least, but he did none of them. He folded his arms and let out a huge sigh.
"Did I say something wrong, Caleb? Or something too much?" I stuttered as I could feel anxiety rushing into me.
"Skylar, I-"
"W-what?" I stumbled.
"Look, yesterday was good. But I need some time to figure out how I feel about you yet."
"Are you serious?" I exasperated.
"Come on! Fuck it and just- give me some time!"
"Whatever." I said bluntly as I began walking away and this wasn't the first time. He didn't stop me neither did he call out for me and again, just like before, this wasn't the first time.
