I entered the multi-sports court and saw quite a few people present. There were some jocks but they weren't doing anything, just sitting in a group on the stands, laughing at something on their phone screens. Some girls from the softball team were warming up. I picked up a ball and aimed it at a specific spot on the wall. I threw it with one hand at and as it bounced back, I caught it with the other. I kept doing this for a while until I heard whispers from the cheerleaders who just entered the court.
"... I know right! I haven't seen someone as hot as him lately in school! It's like, he has a complete glow up! A makeover! When he came closer, I couldn't resist but want to kiss him," said one of them.
"Caleb Montgomery is trending and I am so down for him!" added the other.
"When he winked at me, my inside melted but I pretended to not be bothered. It hurt right in my va-jay-jay to do that. Ladies, he's mine, calm your tits down." sneered Charlotte, the cheerleader, the HBIC. I have never liked her ever since she played a gruesome washroom prank on me in primary school.
Caleb though? He was the topic of their discussion? Was I jealous? Yes, envious. Why was he flirting with these cheerleading shits?
I still continued practicing after half an hour, but I couldn't stop thinking about Caleb, even after those cheerleading pigs had left. I couldn't stop but wonder why he, who had never acted like a player, was flirting around with random girls, when Caleb himself, with his closest buddy for years now, Donovan Mitchell, walked in.

They settled themselves on the stands and started conversing when I jumped in.
"What are you doing?!" I asked furiously.
"Chilling with my brother, why?" he replied.
"Hi Skylar, I'm Donovan. You alright?"
"Hi Donny, I already know you and you already know that I already know you so shut your mouth until Caleb doesn't answer my damn questions!" I screeched.
"Oh my god, Skye. C'mere with me, seems like we need to talk," Caleb said softly, taking my behavior into consideration.
We both walked off the stands and Donovan could only stare and try to contemplate the situation.
"Tell me, what's wrong?" Caleb inquired.
"What's wrong is your behavior. What's with this random winking and flirting with random girls?"
"What? Are you serious right now? This is why you are yelling at me?" he said loudly at which I spotted Donovan chuckling.
"Holy mackerel, keep your voice down. I wasn't so loud either," I hushed and Donovan chuckled again.
"Why are you so bothered? Trying to be my mom?" asked Caleb with anger in his words but mellow in his voice.
"Because you don't know those girls! They're weird and- and bitches!"
"How would you know? You don't even talk to them," claimed Caleb.
"I know because I am a girl, plus, I've heard them speak! They think you're so into them that you'd be ready to fuck them!"
I could see Caleb get awkward as lines grew on his forehead and his eyes get narrowed.
I continued, "And plus, all of them talked about their pussies and shit like they wanting to aggressively kiss you!"
"Well, isn't that great?" he sneered. "That's good for me. At least I get some action!"
"Ew, Caleb. You gotta stop doing this! It's wrong," I raised my voice at him.
"Why? Are you jealous?"
I felt busted and to cover it up, I folded my arms and narrowed my eyes at him, trying so hard to not show I'm crazily crushing on him.
"..jealous that I'm at least finding somebody to be with and you aren't? Is it something like that?" he continued and I was shocked. I felt indignant.
"And what's wrong is your attitude, by the way." he said, fiercely.
"Fuck off, Caleb." I said as I clenched my teeth in rage.
It was time for me to walk away and so I did. I went straight to the washroom. I started crying as I locked myself in one of them. I was both, angry and sad; angry at Caleb's rude-ass behavior and sad because of his sharp words. They suggested that he didn't have feelings for me the way I did. And I had realized how stupid the entire conversation was; how stupid I was. I cried enough to fill in a bucket until I heard foot steps of someone walk in.
