Lucky Charm
Time was running out. Ladybug only had one spot left, which meant that she could detransform any second now.
She needed to find Chat Noir immediately, and used the last remaining seconds to get to a higher vantage point.
When she safely landed on the top of the Eiffel Tower, her magic suit evaporated. She was no longer the praised superhero of Paris, but rather a plain, simple civilian.
Before Chat disappeared, she saw him head in the direction of the tower.
She browsed her surroundings, searching for any hint of black. As hope was almost lost completely, she spotted a dark silhouette. She was relieved and exhaled deeply.
She had found him, and that made her happy.
But wait... What was he doing?
The tranquil atmosphere was deafening as she just watched his paralyzed figure transcend into nothing. Time seemed to slow down as the painful moments continued to pass without any expectations.
Her mind remained uncertain. She needed to approach him, but she wasn't sure if it was the right time to do so.
He continued to stare over the city of love, as he unknowingly relived many, horrific past memories. His heart clenched with fear and dread.
Marinette felt pity for her friend. He looked so alone in that exact moment, and she just couldn't stay away. She needed to go to him.
She was calm as she moved closer. She didn't want to frighten him, so she made sure to be extra quiet.
"May I come in?"
The unexpected question that came from nowhere, caused the supervillain to shriek in fear. A chain reaction was generated at that moment, causing the clumsy girl to unexpectedly fall backwards.
As gravity became her worst enemy, she was instantly greated by a very familiar shockwave of unnatural discomfort.
She groaned as the pain instantly struck her back. As she began rubbing the spot, Chat immediately made his way over to her side.
"Marinette..?"
He didn't know if it was a question or a statement, but he asked nonetheless.
He anxiously rubbed the back of his neck as he just stared at her. He didn't know what to do, and felt out of place.
After a while, he leaned down. He gave her a small smile and stretched out his hand.
She hesitantly reached for his. When her delecate hand touched his manly one, he tightened his grip and gently pulled her to her feet.
Once again, Chat was drowning in an ocean of deep blue wonder. Her eyes were intoxicating, and at that moment he forgot how to breathe.
He could feel the heat raise to his checks, as he continued to stare deep into that beautiful ocean.
He couldn't take it. It was all too much, and he had to look away.
Silence lingered in the air.
Chat began again, "Marinette? What are you doing here?"
"Uhm..."
She hadn't thought this through. She wanted to check up on him, but she forgot to come up with an excuse.
Great...
"Uhm... Well... You see... I came here because..." she could feel herself cringing. "I came here because, of the Akuma. I ran here to escape his wrath."
