Hello, Purrincess

The dull shades of blues and greys formed an uneasy sense of desolate failure.

What could she possibly accomplish just lying around in a hospital?

She couldn't help but think about a certain black cat. It had been so long since she had seen his beautiful emerald eyes, or his golden locks.

She missed his smile, and longed to see it once more. She feared that his smile was forever lost in the depths of unrelenting despair.

Seeing her in those distressing moments must have broken him. She had no idea what terrible thoughts tormented his fragile mind, but she could only imagine.

She glanced over at the gifts that were scattered across the side table. Amongst the dozens of 'get well soon' cards, and soft teddy bears, lay a beautiful red rose.

She frowned, as she wondered how she hadn't seen it before. She slowly reached for it.

As the flower rested between her finger tips, she examined its every detail. Its colour appeared to have faded, meaning that the person who delivered the gift, must have done so a fairly long time ago.

Could it have come from Chat?

She smiled at the possibility. She held the rose close to her nose as she breathed in the delicate scent. Even though the rose wasn't as bright as it once was, it still smelt wonderful.

She walked over to the window, hoping to see something glorious.

The cold from the tiny ice crystals sent shivers down her spine as she wiped the glass pane with her palm.

As her eyes moved across the streets, she caught a glimpse of the lonely pine tree that stood in the center of the town.

Any day now, it's leaves would be decorated with thousands of beautiful artificial lights. Even the thought alone, was enough to give her a sense of hope. She was alive, and she would get to spend yet another Christmas with the people she loved.

As she continued to stare into the external world, a light tap caught her by surprise.

She froze while she anxiously glanced over in the direction of the strange noises. But when she looked again, there was nothing.

Strange... Perhaps a bird flew into the window or something.

A second tap disproved her assumptions. She began to feel uneasy as the noise got louder and more sudden. Her fists clenched tightly as she felt her heart thumping in her ears.

She wanted to have a look, but at the same time she was too afraid.

She took a deep breath, as she slowly began to open the window. When she looked outside, everything appeared to be normal. There was no one there, which made her frown in confusion.

Maybe she was loosing her mind... It could be a huge possibility after everything she had endured in the past few weeks.

She took one final glance, then turned around. But before she could even take a single step, something warm wrapped around her wrist.

Before she could even mutter a single word, a hand had covered her mouth. Her eyes grew wide, not knowing what to think.

She tried to shout for help, but no amount of fighting would be enough to alert anyone. While the person still held her in his extremely tight grip, Marinette began to search the hand that covered her mouth.

She relaxed slightly when she caught a glimpse of a very familiar ring. When she saw the neon green paw print, she knew it had to be none other than the famous Chat Noir.
