Amber Eyes

Adrien headed back to Master Fu's after his transformation unexpectedly faded. It appeared as if there was a slight problem with his miraculous, but he wasn't too sure. He never once used cataclysm, yet his ring beeped signaling that his time was up.

He was still very ignorant and needed answers. He just hoped that The Guardian would be able to help.

As the anxious teenager waited for Master Fu to arrive, he walked around the room as his eyes roamed across the numerous, ancient Chinese objects that were scattered all over the place.

His hands found their way over to a very unusual looking device. He intensively stared at the unknown piece of metal as his mind began to wonder what it could possibly be.

It looked like a ring, but different somehow. There were five different jewels, each a different colour present all around the frame.

His fingers gently brushed over the emerald stone. He couldn't help but wonder if this specific piece of jewelry was perhaps a miraculous.

"Adrien..?"

As if instantly, the blond was shaken from his trance and he dropped the ring.

His eyes grew wide when he realized what he had just done. He anxiously reached for the object, praying that it wasn't broken.

He quickly examined it, and exhaled in relief when he saw that it was still in one piece.

"I... Am sorry..." He mumbled as he handed the strange jewel back to its rightful owner.

"It's fine. This thing is indestructible!"

Adrien rubbed his head in confusion as Master Fu said those words.

"Wh... What is it?"

"Don't worry too much... But long  story short, this ancient piece of jewelry is very powerful, and it can even be used to fix a Miraculous!"

"Well that's great, because I think mine is broken..." He nervously responded.

The ancient Guardian gave the boy a questioning glance as he rubbed his goatee.

"Hmmm... Are you sure?"

"Uhm... I don't really know, but I think it might be, because my transformation wore off without even using my cataclysm! I was -"

Master Fu immediately interrupted Adrien's rambling with a voice laced with fear, "This is very bad!"

Adrien's lips formed a single line as he watched the Chinese man gather his thoughts. He had a feeling that something like this was going to happen. Please be good news... He tried to reassure himself as best he could, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.

As Master Fu stared straight into Adrien's distressed eyes, his heart sank.

"You're eyes..."

"Yeah, I know... They're amber."

Master Fu remained silent for so long that Adrien was beginning to think that he had forgotten how to speak. And even though he never said anything, his expression was enough to tell the blond that something was definitely wrong.

Adrien wanted to know, but at the same time, he was terrified. He wanted answers to everything that had happened, but he just didn't know if he would be willing to accept it.

Master Fu walked over to the couch as he gestured for Adrien to follow.

"Adrien," his eyes looked so empty. "Sit down and listen to what I'm about to tell you... I don't know why I didn't see your eyes before, but this is even worse than I had initially thought."
