{Colby's POV}
Sam and I made it to my house eventually, Sam still holding the small crescent moon keyring in his hand. I opened the door for him, letting him step inside and walking in behind him, shutting the door. I slipped of my shoes, Sam doing the same as I walked further into the house. "Mum! Mum you home?" I called out.
"In here!" I heard her shout back. I turned around to see Sam standing nervously in front of the door, swaying slightly. I smiled, gesturing him to follow me, which he did. I walked into the kitchen, with Sam close behind. "Mum," I said as I walked in.
"That's my name," she smiled, looking up from her magazine she was currently sat reading to look at me.
"This is my friend Sam," I told her, stepping aside to reveal the blonde boy, who was playing with the sleeves of his hoodie, anxiousness quite obviously taking over his small body. I sighed with relief when mum just greeted him with a gentle "hello" and a smile. Sam returned the gestures, his eyes shooting back down and a blush coating his cheeks instantly. Mum smiled widely at me, winking jokily. I shot her a glare, turning around to Sam. I placed my hand on his back to lead him away, feeling how he tensed and then relaxed. I led him up the stairs and into my room, smiling as he looked around in awe.
"Your room is so cool," he complimented, sitting down on the bed.
"Meh, it's alright," I shrugged, peeling my hoodie of and flinging it over the back of my desk chair.
"It's better than alright," he smiled, his pearly white teeth showing which made me giggle.
"Bet your rooms cooler," I challenged, watching him shake his head frantically.
"My room currently consists of boxes, Colby. I moved here like, a week ago," he laughed, his smile infectious and bringing one to my lips too.
"Well once you get it all decorated and stuff, it'll look good," I grinned, sitting down beside him.
"What kind of colours do you want?"
"Well I was thinking maybe a baby blue kind of colour, or a light grey, something like that. And I want to have a theme, but I don't know what yet," he shrugged, turning to face me.
"I think I have an idea," I told him, looking at his breathtaking blue eyes as they lit up.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Your theme should be the moon. Like your keyring," I suggested, smiling widely when he nodded and hummed in approval.
"I can help if you want. Decorate your room, that is," I offered.
"Yeah, yeah sure," he agreed, a blush creeping onto his cheeks that made me smile.
For the rest of the afternoon, we just hung out. Watched a movie, stuffed ourselves full of sweets and played x box. Nothing special, but to me every single moment was magic. Now we were sitting on my bed, listening to our favourite songs and talking about random stuff. "Colby!" I heard my mum call.
"Yeah!" I yelled back.
"Is Sam staying for dinner?" She asked.
I turned to Sam, raising my eyes brows.
"U-uh I c-can't," Sam stuttered.
"Why not?" I asked.
"I-i have to be home by eight o'clock," he said, looking down at his hands.
"Why? That's so early," I groaned, honestly gutted that Sam was going to have to go so soon.
"It's just the rules," Sam said, a hint of annoyance in his voice. I decided not to push it any further, calling back to my mum to tell her Sam wouldn't be staying for dinner.
Sam picked up his phone, glancing at the screen.
"I- I should get going," Sam spoke, standing up.
"It's only 10 past 7. You can stay a little longer," i tried, standing up as well.
"I - I have to go. We can do this again though, right?" He asked.
"Of course," I replied, stepping out of the way so he could walk past me. He walked down the stairs and to the front door, me following close behind. He slipped on his shoes and slung his bag over his shoulder.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow," he smiled, opening the door and stepping outside onto the porch.
"Yeah, see ya," I smiled back. And with that he walked away, leaving me with an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach. There was something about him. Something weird. And I didn't know what, but it was going to find out.
