"Smells divine." I inhaled the scent of the food as Delton took it out from the paper bag. He took out first the salmon ravioli in saffron cream sauce, it looked so mouthwatering. Then he took another from the bag, it was a pancetta carbonara with sausage ragu. I was about to jump off my seat to get some plates and other utensils when he stopped me.
"Don't. Stay there and just watch." He demanded as he walked to get the plates.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm just bruised, not incapable." I still jumped out of my seat and rushed to get the place mats.
He just shook his head. "Why do you always disobey me? You're head is as hard as a rock." He complained while gesturing his hand as he spoke.
I smirked at him. "I told you, I don't take orders." Then I arranged the place mats on the table and assisted Delton who's now carrying three big plates. Two in his hands and one on his arms.
"Thought so." He just sighed and shook his head as I grabbed the plate that is placed on his arms quickly that he didn't manage to stop me.
We settled ourselves on each side of the table sitting opposite of each other. We ate lunch heartily. We chatted about random stuffs. Within the lunch I found out he's quite talkative and very opinionated about things. He's a good listener too.
"Thanks for the lunch, Delton." I smiled heartily at him. Glad that we didn't argue the whole period. "And for being a good company." I added.
He smiled back. "No. Thank you. It's been a long time since I had a conversation like this. You know, those random yet humorous and senseful talks." He answered in a matter-of-fact tone.
Long time. Like, how long? I know he's rich and a very busy man, but is he lonely? I know he have 2 brothers and they do look very close in fact. He had many women around him all the time and not even one had given him that conversation we had? Maybe I was just being adorable the whole time. The other term for stupid my friends use so it wouldn't sound mean. Or maybe he's just busy chatting around. Speaking of busy, why is he still here? Doesn't he have any meetings?
"Senseful." I smiled at my words. I don't even find the conversation I had with him senseful. It was more of like some random topics. "By the way, don't you have any conference calls or business meetings? I believe you're a busy person." I interrupted him as I leaped off my chair to clean the table.
His face went from happy to kind of exhausted. "Actually, I have and its twenty minutes from now. Don't bother cleaning, I already told my housekeeper to come. You should have some rest, Ariadne." He told me as he stood up and walked towards me.
I gulped the lump in my throat as he walked towards me. It felt very uneasy. My heart pounding loudly against my chest as he neared me. It's so loud that maybe he can even hear it.
"Come on. Drop those plates back on the table or I will be forced to carry you inside the bedroom." He threatened.
"Oh, you wouldn't dare."
"I dare you a lot, darling."
"You're such a jerk. And don't you call me that! " I hissed at him.
"Don't make me count." He warned me with his eyes locked with mine that some sort of tells me I'm in danger. The other kind of danger.
I just glared at him. I like making him mad. I like the look on his face when I disobey his orders.
I ignored his command by continuing on getting the plates from the table and started getting the placemats. I watched him silently in the corner of my eyes. His lips drawn into a thin line.
