They were drifting, the two boys both knew it. But only one knew why, it was them, they are the cause of this. It broke the boys heart.
Daniel, the boy Corbyn loved was destined for happiness. Corbyn on the other hand couldn't say the same for himself. The brunette had always been the outgoing one, making friends easily, coming out, etc.
Which is exactly why the blonde is in the situation he was right now, crying himself to sleep. It wasn't a rare occasion, oh no, this happened regularly. Almost every night Daniel didn't spend with Corbyn this would happen. The boy just couldn't help but overthink especially when being left alone. He hates being left alone because that's when all his dark thoughts come out to play and take over. Bad things always happened while the dark thoughts were in control.
Oh how he wished he could be more like Daniel, even if the ocean eyed boy was a bit quirky and strange everyone seemed to like him more than the blonde. That hurt Corbyn. Even though the boy wasn't very social and didn't like people much, it still stung to hear that people don't like you.
Daniel and the boys have been going on trips recently, well all the boys except for Corbyn. He was never invited. Which was strange as all the boys are close, even more so between Daniel and Corbyn considering they're dating.
They were having fun, swimming, shopping et cetera and Corbyn witnessed all their fun through his phone screen. He felt discluded, abandoned, and he was hurt. He doesn't understand what he's done to be forgotten about, like the boy just slipped their minds as they came up with the plan to hangout.
He cried, ugly cried that night which resulted in crying himself to sleep. He did nothing wrong to deserve this. He thought they were his best friends.
Daniel still texted him telling him that he missed him and loved him, but the others, they did not even contact him once. Not even to say "oh bro we miss you out here, sorry about not inviting you we were short on cars" or some explanation. Instead, he got nothing. They hadn't even told Daniel to say hi from them. Not one lousy word.
What hurt the blonde the most was the fact that one of the boys who had arranged and invited everyone chose everyone, everyone but him. He chose all of them over him. Even though he would choose any of the boys over himself and he was still happy the boys were having fun he still questioned, why am I not good enough. Why?
So when the boys had finally gotten back a couple days later Daniel texted him. He asked if he wanted to hangout with the boys the next day. To which Corbyn responded with, "I don't want it to be awkward." and Daniel was confused. He soon understood and tried making the blonde feel like he was included and that the boys did want him there. Corbyn took none of it. He didn't believe Daniel. He has so much self doubt that he's encouraging them to hang out without him, that's how low they've made him feel.
"It'll probably be better without me there, it'd be more fun."
"Baby don't think like that."
"Yeah well it's kinda hard not to"

~ sorry to make the boys the bad guys here. this is actually based on real life and what is happening with me right now. i needed to put my energy into something and get all my feelings out so i whipped this up. hope it was good and you enjoyed it ~ ~ i swear i'm getting to requests, i'm sorry. i really haven't been motivated and a lot of things have been going on that i'm trying to deal with ~ ~ happy mental health awareness week too btw! i struggle with anxiety. make sure to look after yourselves extra well this week. i'm not doing too great at it so far but please everyone else, remember to take your medication :) ~ ~ sorry for that long ass a/n. ily guys ~ ~ Wc: 586 ~ 💫
