Chelsea appeared out of nowhere, rushed up to my table and set her stuff down. "Have you checked the room of requirement?" She asked without so much as a hello.

"What?" I asked, potions homework leaving my mind.

She sighed and opens a book. "It's a room in the castle where it turns into whatever you need including a place to hide things. You know "place where all is gone"" she repeated from the letter I'd received the day before.

I looked at the ancient book and watched the picture of a wall that looked bare suddenly turn into a door and then back again. "How does it work?" I asked as I stared at the disappearing door.

"No idea." She said resolutely turning the pages of the book. "It doesn't give much detail. I don't even know where in the castle it is."

"Do you think there could be something in there that will tell me what this all means?" I wasn't really asking, just thinking out loud.

"It's worth looking into." She shrugged. "We'll just have to figure it out first. Oh, I also found this book on hexes." She handed me the large brown covered book. Hexes with Hugo was printed in gold on the cover. "Study it and it'll make a world of difference."

"Thanks." I said as I eagerly skimmed the first few pages.

Tracey joined us in the library after lunch. I clued her in on the room of requirement. She didn't know about it either so we decided to finish our potions essay on the effects of the pepperup potion, after all tomorrow we had potions class again but this time our teams were with Gryffindors.

The next morning we all dragged ourselves out of bed. Not a single first year slytherin was happy for potions class and that was unusual. At breakfast, Jay assured us we'd be fine. How did she know? I doubt she was forced to be partnered with a Gryffindor by our own head of house.

Tracey, Chelsea and I walked to class after breakfast. Draco not far behind.

"If I'm paired with Potter..." Draco sneered, unable to even finish his sentence because as we entered the class room the board was covered in names and at the very top was 'Malfoy/Potter'. Draco rushed over to Snapes desk as the majority of students begrudgingly found their partners. Snape nodded and sighed as he stood to change the names. Potter was erased and what took its place left me seething inside. Diggory. Was it pure coincidence or did Draco ask for her to be his partner. Either way I slammed my book next to my new partner. Hermione Granger.

Merlin's beard, did she ever stop talking. Granger did most of the work, leaving me to stare at the pair in front of me. Draco helped show Diggory how to brew the potion properly, he retrieved their ingredients, and he bottled the end result. In my distracted state I almost dropped in too much beetle juice and hermione took the time to explain why that'd ruin our potion. At this time, I honestly could care less.

At the end of class we turned in the potion vile and our essay. I let Granger turn it in as I was too busy eavesdropping.

"The owlery?" Draco whispered.

"After dinner?" She asked. He nodded.

On the way out of class I pulled Chelsea and Tracey aside. I had a plan and I'd need their help.

I knew I should have dropped it when she told me it was a potions accident. But now I wanted to confront her with my new theory. There was an animal called a thestral that had something similar to claws on its wings. Most people couldn't see them so she must've thought I wouldn't believe her. My other theory was that it was a hippogriff. They had the talons of an eagle which I'm sure could leave a mark.
