"The Savior"

Chapter 20

The ball room was filled with king's and queens of different states. The ambiance was excellent and the eyes awaited princess. And then she came. She was looking extremely gorgeous in the peach colored gown,decorated with jewels. Her hair tied up in half and falling on her back. Her blue eyes trying to hide pain. As she decended the staircase Prince James came forward and took her hand.

"You look extremely gorgeous" remarked James
"Thank you", responded Alexandra

Arthur sighed at that scene.

They both were greeted by their families and then the rings were brought. They were very rare and beautiful diamonds.

Alexandra picked up the ring, her hands were shaking. Then the exchange of rings took place and princess Alexandra was engaged against her will. She shed a few tears. Arthur was also lost.

The newly engaged couple then came to the dance floor, as per ritual. They were having a slow dance when Alexandra was looking at Arthur. Her heart was aching, she was tied in this bond with James but her heart lied with Arthur.

In the midst of the celebrations rushed in Seargant Bruce. Throwing the gates open of the ball room he pointed the musicians to stop playing the music and immediately silence spread in the ball room. Every one looked at the worried officer and then he spoke.

"My king we are under attack. King Lucifer's forces have entered our borders".

This created a deep silence in the room and then King spoke

"Where is commander?"

"He is arriving here my king; leaving Brigadier in charge at the battlefield". Responded Seargant

"Join me in the court room, send Commander as soon as he reaches".

Alexandra was the first to rush behind the king. Prince James, king Phillip and Arthur followed as well. Young prince Charles also went with them.

"My king, I am very sad to inform you that we are out numbered". Said Commander Orland

"Anderson, I have written to my commander in chief to send over the millitary, do not worry, you have our back". Said King Phillip

"Thank you, we now need to devise a strategy" said King Anderson

"Father, we should benefit from the tunnels that lead to our borders" said Alexandra

They all looked at her as if they had just noticed her presence.

"I think that will be wise, we could certainly use her opinion." Commander said in her agreement

They all then developed a strategy.

"That's all I think. We would leave in the morning at 5. You all should rest now". Said king Anderson

Every one left the room.

"Father, I would accompany you to the battlefield". Said Alexandra

"That will not be appropriate my daughter. Your safety is most important". Replied king

"But I have trained for battles and you are aware of it". Replied Alexandra

"That is exactly why I need you in the palace to gaurd the family against any...

He was interrupted by Alexandra

"Father I could be of more use to you in the battlefield" insisted Alexandra

"It is my order. Gaurd the palace". King said and left

                                   ....

Alexandra went to see Arthur, he was sitting in the balcony.

"Alex" he inquired,

"Arthur" she said and came towards him

"In these difficult times, I am able to think of no one but you. My father, my fiancee all are going for this battle, but my heart is beating for you. I have no clue why but I'm very worried for you". She said at once

"It's okay Alex, I'm alright" said Arthur holding her hands

"Nothing calms my heart Arthur" responded Alexandra

"Alexandra, in these critical times, I only want for you to be safe. So please stay in the palace, I know you want to join us in the battlefield but please stay". Said Arthur

"How can I, stay knowing you need my help". Replied Alexandra

"Pray for us and stay strong, we will soon return with victory" Arthur said

She embraced him and then left, however she was unable to understand that, feeling of restlessness, her heart was trying to tell her something, but she couldn't understand.

                                      ...

The army left for the battlefield in the morning, Alexandra saw them leaving. In the night when everyone else was sleeping, Alexandra put on her cloak and left the palace. It was being extremely hard for her to stay and do nothing, instead wait for some news to come.
She had ordered some months ago the digging of a new tunnel that would lead to the borders with the added benefit of reaching in the opposite territory. She went through that tunnel and reached the battlefield.

She was at the back of the camps of King Lucifer's millitary. The soldiers were sleeping in the camps. However she saw that a camp was heavily gaurded. She realized that it was where king Lucifer was staying.

Alexandra threw a stone in the other direction compelling the gaurd to look in that direction.
The gaurd when came in that direction, was attacked by Alexandra. She had learned combat and she held his neck strongly. It soon was unable for him to breathe and he died. In this manner she managed to take down four of the guards. However one of the gaurd sensed something wrong and was coming from the back to hit Alexandra with the sword, but he was taken down by Arthur.

Alexandra looked at him.

"I saw you coming" said Arthur

"Good, let's take down Lucifer". Replied Alexandra

"Are you insane, it is not that easy. He will not be alone and you have just taken down his personal gaurds, he would have known by now". Responded Arthur

"Have you seen in the camp, he is alone sleeping. It is past midnight. He would not sense us. This is our only shot. Common Arthur help me" Alexandra said and entered the camp.

Arthur sensed that there were men in the camp, he backed up and tried to listen"
