"All that unpacking must have worn you out," Skye assumed.
"Yes, I suppose." Bowen went along with him.
"Dinner is ready. I made you your favorite eggplants with garlic sauce to celebrate," Skye smiled, "our first night together."
"You do know how misleading that sounds, right?" Bowen teased.
"Although we moved all our stuff to the new house last week, the two of us are officially living under one roof today. Plus, your Wei Wei and my Lan Lan finally get to be together."
That's right. We each adopted a cat from Jeremy's shelter. He was originally the veterinarian there but became the owner a year later. "Yes, it's our first night together."
"You're right," Skye agreed. "That does sound misleading."
"If it becomes real, then it won't be misleading."
"Don't joke like that."
"I'm not joking," Bowen insisted.
"Fine." Skye lifted a brow in question. "Well?"
"What?" Bowen threw him a blank stare.
"Dinner."
"Oh, right." Bowen got up from his seat and hurried to the door. It's nice to be back to our place. Bowen went to sit down at the dining table. I thought Yulian said that each person was only allowed one chance to repeat their life, and that I couldn't go back to the future. Why was I transported 2 years forward from the past? Where did Yulian go?
"Bowen." Skye's voice yanked him out of his trance. "Why are you so spacey today? Version 4 of Heaven's Clouds will be releasing in 2 days. All the finishing touches are complete. You should relax and enjoy your dinner. I made you smashed cucumbers. It might not taste as good as the ones you make." Skye taunted.
"That's not funny." Bowen stared at him disapprovingly and picked up a piece of cucumber with his chopsticks. "Mm...this is good."
Skye smiled. "Then, eat up."
"You eat too, ge." Bowen pulled out the chair beside his.
Skye sat down and started eating.
"Where's Jensen ge?"
"You bought him and Sion round trip tickets to Paris for vacation," Skye reminded. "They left 3 days ago."
"Oh." That was all that Bowen could blurt out. "That's right. Haha!" He forced a laugh.
Skye gazed at him with furrowed brows. "Are you feeling okay?" He reached over and pressed his palm on Bowen's forehead.
"What are you doing?" Bowen asked.
"I'm checking your temperature," Skye replied. "You don't seem to have a fever."
"Aiyoh, ge. I'm fine." Bowen reassured. "I had a crazy dream earlier, so my mind is a little mixed up. I'll be back on track after dinner."
"Are you sure?" Skye made a face and retracted his hand.
"Yes, sir," Bowen affirmed.
"All right," Skye said and placed some eggplants in Bowen's bowl of rice.
"Ge, is it okay if we switch rooms?"
