Bowen's eyes rounded in fear. "W-When did they leave?"
"Sion just drove out two minutes ago," Yulian answered.
"Are they heading to the nearby minimart?"
"I'm not sure," Yulian lied.
Bowen ran to his room to fetch his cell phone and car keys and headed for the front door.
Jensen noticed Bowen rushing out. "Kid, where are you going?"
"I need to go find ge."
"I'll go with you," Jensen offered.
"It's okay, Jensen. I'll go with him. You keep the guests company." With that, Yulian chased after Bowen.
Bowen drove out of the driveway and glimpsed at Yulian. "Where did they go?"
Although Bowen wasn't able to see Zander seated in the backseat, Yulian could. Knowing that he wasn't allowed to tell Bowen anything, since his human was supposed to figure out everything by himself; Yulian felt very conflicted.
You do know that even if some of the things get changed, others will still run their course despite the changes. What should happen will still happen. Zander reminded Yulian.
I know. Yulian definitely knew about this, but he wasn't going to give up without a fight.
"Do you think they went to that same minimart...the one that's on the street where the accident happened?" Bowen asked once more when there was no response from Yulian.
Yulian took in a deep breath and exhaled. Whatever. I'll take the punishment later. Yulian retorted to Zander. "I don't think they went to the minimart. Try the market that's around the corner, two blocks down. That's the closest one."
"Okay." Bowen turned into the parking lot when they arrived at their destination; they got out once the car was parked. He pulled out his phone and immediately called Skye.
"Hey, Bowen," Skye answered the phone.
"Ge, where are you?"
"I'm at the market with Sion. We ran out of beer."
"Which market?"
"The one that we always go to, that's around the corner."
"What aisle?"
"We're at," Skye paused for a moment to look, "the snacks."
"I'm right outside with John ge," Bowen informed. "We're coming in to find you guys."
"Did you need something?"
"Whatever you do, don't leave the market without us."
"What's wrong?"
"I see you." Bowen spotted Skye and Sion and ended the call at once. Sprinting over to the older man, Bowen embraced him in relief. "Thank goodness, you're okay."
Why does this feel so familiar? Skye reached up to give Bowen gentle pats on his back.
"I was so scared," Bowen muttered.
"I'm fine," Skye reassured.
"Geez, I almost feel bad for dragging him with me to get beer," Sion interrupted.
