"Hey look! Some mail!" Said Fern.
Katie got out of Fern's cave. Fern was holding some carved tree bark.
"How exactly will that help?" Asked Katie.
"I know how to read," Said Fern. "Hey, our ride is here!"
A cloud was going past some trees, then it stopped in front of Fern. Fern got on the cloud.
"Get on!" Yelled Fern.
Katie got on the cloud, and waited a few seconds until the cloud went upwards!
"I didn't know this would happen," Said Fern. "But it's cool!"
They were flying in the sky for about 5 minutes when they saw an unusual cloud that looked like a castle. The cloud turned towards it.
"This is Cloud Kingdom!" Said Fern. "Where they say the Cloud Cats live!"
The Cloud Kingdom looked like any normal castle, but made with clouds that looked like cotton candy!
"Do they serve cotton candy here?" Asked Katie.
"For dessert." Replied Fern.
When they reached the castle door, two cloud guards waited there. They opened the door almost all the way.
"It's so cool!" Exclaimed Katie

"Well, you're very lucky to be here," Said a cloud guard. "You both were invited to see the king and queen!"

"Why us?" Asked Fern.

The cloud guards were silent.

"Can you tell us?" Asked Fern.

"Just go." Said another cloud guard.

Katie and Fern were walking through the town. There were many small buildings that looked like they had many purposes. The town was like a modern city, but also like medieval times. There ended up being many snow cone shops and cotton candy shops.

"Where do they get the snow cones?" Asked Katie.

"Leftover hail." Answered Fern.

A little after Fern's answer, he tripped over a stair.

"We're almost there." He said. "It's just up these stairs."

Katie was silent when her and Fern went up a bunch of stairs. Fern was just counting stairs.

"Twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine, thirty! That's a lot of stairs."

"Well, let's go in!" Said Katie.

They opened the door to the inside of the castle. Statues of forgotten cloud guards were "guarding" the door.

"You're finally back!"

Katie looked at Fern. "You mean him?"

"Of course, he is our son." Said the cat in the smaller chair. "Why wouldn't you be?"

"I'm sorry," Explained Fern, "I think you have the wrong cat, Queen Sapphire."

"Don't be silly." Said the cat in the throne.

"Well, I guess I used to be here before."

"Maybe you have." Said Katie. "You told me about the snow cone thing, you told me about cotton candy..."

"Our son used to know about that." Said Queen Sapphire.

"Hmm..." Fern thought out loud. "I guess I am."

"We missed you so much." Said the cat in the bigger throne.

"What was my name here?" Asked Fern.

"We named you Fern." Said Queen Sapphire. "Did you change your name?"

"I never did." Said Fern.

"Who is she?" Asked the cat in the throne.

"Her name's Katie, King Calico." Said Fern.

"Well," Said the king, "We have a spare room if you would like to stay."

"I would like to stay." Said Katie.
