"What? Really?" asked Katie.

"There's two Shadow-Shifters in the kingdom." Answered King Calico. "While I was sleeping, I was thrown in the dungeon I rarely use, and whenever I try to get out, the door closes. When I gave up, all I did was watch my people die."

"I have so many questions!"

"Ask away until you die."

A cloud door opened. Inside the door, it was hailing, and lightning struck many times. King Calico shook his head.

"It'll come in here," Said the king, "but all you have to do is to crouch and only have your feet on the floor and walls."

Katie did what she was told, and the storm was starting to come in the dungeon.

"But what about the hail?" Asked Katie.

"If you're strong enough, carry me over you." replied King Calico.

Katie walked over and carried King Calico over her head, but she struggled to carry her, so he fell on his feet and arms. The storm was halfway in.

"I don't know what else to do."

Katie noticed the door the storm came out of. Another door was to the left.

"The door! Follow me!"

Katie and King Calico ran through the storm and got to safety in the other room.

"But there's nothing-"

Katie pushed the door to the right of her.

"Oh." The king noticed.

Fern went back to the castle.

"It's too late." He said.

Queen Sapphire was there, but King Calico had gone somewhere else.

"I'm sorry, sweetie."

Something to the left caught Fern's eye. A door opened, and two cats, one with black fur, one with calico fur, had walked into the castle.

"Katie?" asked Fern.

"Fern!" Katie exclaimed as she ran over to Fern.

"Who's that?" Asked the queen.

"That's King Calico!" Exclaimed Katie.

"But I don't understand!" Said Queen Sapphire. "King Calico was just going to buy something from somewhere! How did he en-"

Queen Sapphire went quiet.

"Is that the Calico I know?"

Another King Calico came through the castle door.

"I see you got out." Said the second Calico. "You and your 'princess'. "

"You're not fooling me." Said King Calico.

"You're not fooling me." Said the imposter. "You've been gone for a long time. No king can rule twice."

"Reveal yourself, Shadow-Shifter!" Yelled Katie. "You have been killing many cats who lived in this town! If you kill every cat who has a weapon, shouldn't you kill your own guards?"

"Guards!" Yelled the fake. "Kill this imposter, and kill the black furred cat with him!"

"No! Guards!" Yelled King Calico. "Kill that imposter!"

All the cats just watched as both cats argued.

"Let's just do a vote." said a guard. "All cats who want to kill this cat," He pointed his spear to the second Calico "raise your hand."

Queen Sapphire, Katie, and King Calico raised their hand.

"Kings don't count." Said the other guard.

"Now, whoever wants to kill this cat," The guard pointed his spear towards King Calico "raise your hand."

No cat raised their hand.

"Welp, this one it is."

The second Calico somehow darkened it's fur to a shadowy black. What looked like smoke rose up to the cloud ceiling. It even started to rain. A scream was heard by the cat, and some clouds were in front of them.

"Guards!" Yelled a guard. "Get in the castle!"

Many guards came in and circled around the Shadow-Shifter. Some of the cats yelled and poofed into clouds, while others kept fighting.

"Fools!" Yelled the Shadow-Shifter. "I can only be beaten by one thing! And that thing is..."
