"Let's ask if we could drive one." Said Katie. "But who do we ask?"

Some cars went past a checkered line, which Katie guessed was the finish line. "Purple wins." Said a brown tabby cat by the line, who held the flag. "Gosh, she wins every time."

Katie held Fern's hand.

"Wait what are you-" Katie ran while holding Fern's hand. "Woah!"

"Could we join the race?" Asked Katie when she got by the finish line.

"You need a cardboard car!" Said the tabby. "What, we give out free cars? Oh wait, actually we do! Over there."

The tabby pointed to a giant cardboard box.

"This will be easy, I guess." Said Katie.

Katie and Fern walked across the field over to the giant box. There were many dandelions and flowers around.

"I wonder how all these flowers survive pollution." Said Fern. "Now, where's the entrance?"

Katie walked to the left of the blank box. There was an entrance on the other face of it.

"It's over here." Said Katie.

Katie and Fern pushed the garage-like door upwards and saw a tuxedo cat trying to work on a golden car.

"We heard the prince was back in Cloud Kingdom." Said the cat. "Making this for them if they want to race."

"Could we race?" Asked Katie.

"I see you have the prince there." Said the tuxedo-colored cat. "He can race, but you can't."

"Why not?"

"These cars only hold one person! One more, and it's broke."

Katie looked at the golden, cardboard car. It looked like any normal cardboard car, but with ice cream cover wheels. Part of the wheels were made with skewers poking into the car. But yes, it did look fragile.

"Could I get in now?" Asked Fern.

"You gotta decorate it first! No point in going out with just gold!"

"It's missing glitter!" Said Katie.

"Yeah... it is."

The tuxedo cat sprinkled glitter all over it. "Anything else?"

"Nope!" Said Fern.

"Then get in!" Said the cat. "I bet you know how to drive."

"It's been a while." Said Fern. "I could still remember."

Fern slowly drove the golden car out of the cardboard box. Katie followed the car out of the box and to the race track.

"Oh, you're a prince." Said the tabby, still there. "You can compete in the finals. The winner gets the lightning medal!"

The tabby disconnected the track bumper and opened it like a door. "Good luck. Put your car on a white spot and wait two hours. That's the next race."

Katie relaxed on the tire swing and slept. It had been two hours that Fern played on the playground by the racetrack, and it was only sunset!

"Katie! Katie! Time for me to race!"

"But aren't there a lot of clouds?" Asked Katie, looking up.

"Sunset is the best time to race, though! I might get you the lightning medal!"

"Fine." Said Katie. "But it might be canceled."
